Founded in 2022, Trio ToUché features Towson University piano faculty members
Eva Mengelkoch, Hsiu-Hui Wang, and Christopher Dillon in performances of
repertory for six hands at one piano. The trio regularly appears in the Center for the
Arts at Towson University, at on- and off-campus recruitment events, on regional
recital series and house concerts.

Hsiu-Hui Wang, acclaimed for her concerts, masterclasses, and lecture

tours across the US,
Taiwan, and Southeast Asia, has received praise from The New York Concert Review
and The
Baltimore Sun. Her solo and chamber performances with the Gemini Piano Trio have
been
described as “ardent,” “serene,” “graceful,” and “poetic.” She has collaborated with
prestigious
ensembles like the Emerson String Quartet and graced venues including Carnegie
Weill Recital
Hall, the Kennedy Center, Taipei National Recital Hall, Aspen Music Festival, and La
Jolla
Summerfest.
Dr. Wang holds degrees from the Hartt School of Music, USC, and the
University
of Maryland, College Park, where she studied under Raymond Hanson, Anne
Koscielny,
Stewart Gordon, and Thomas Schumacher, and also worked with Menaham Pressler
and the
members of the Guarneri String Quartet. A dedicated educator for over thirty years,
she has
taught at Goucher College, and currently at Towson University and Howard
Community College.

A performer on modern piano and fortepiano, Eva Mengelkoch has

concertized in chamber music ensembles, as a solo recitalist and accompanist in
North America, Central America, India, and throughout Western and Central Europe.
Her artistry has been described as “formidable on both instruments, technically
brilliant and poetically distinctive.” (Early Music America).
Dr. Mengelkoch’s world premiere recording of Songs for Lena by Albrecht
Mendelssohn Bartholdy with Julianne Baird and Ryan de Ryke was chosen by Opera
Nederland as “CD on the Month” (November 2021), and A-R Editions published
Eva’s scholarly edition of A. Mendelssohn’s songs in March 2024.
Eva Mengelkoch studied at the Folkwang Hochschule with Michael Roll and
received her Master’s and Doctorate at Indiana University as a student of Schnabel-
pupil Leonard Hokanson (piano) and Elisabeth Wright (fortepiano). Since 2022, she
has worked intensively with Hans Peter Blochwitz on the interpretation of the
German Lied repertory. Eva is a piano professor at Towson University.

Christopher Dillon debuted with the San Luis Obispo County Symphony at
the age of 17. He pursued his education at the Eastman School of Music, the Oberlin
Conservatory, and the Peabody Institute. While at Peabody, he studied with Julian
Martin, Ellen Mack, and Robert McDonald. Dillon obtained his Doctorate in Music at
Peabody Conservatory in 2002.
In addition to teaching at the Peabody Conservatory from 1999 to 2003, he
has been teaching theory, piano and ear training at Towson University since 2003.
Dr. Dillon is currently Lecturer in Piano and Theory at Towson University.
Dr. Dillon’s research interests include works of J. S. Bach (including a
complete performance of J.S. Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier, Volume 2, performed
from memory) and Alexander Scriabin. His efforts in that area have included a
recital of five Scriabin sonatas, and a lecture-recital on synesthesia in Scriabin’s late
works.
