Terminal Commands
*{General-Purposes}~
1. For turning on and off of wifi, use the <nmcli radio> command. For turning on
the wifi, write <nmcli radio wifi on> and for
turning it off, use <nmcli radio wifi on>.
2.(Tmux)~ If you press <tmux> then terminal would appear inside of a terminal. To
exit this, press <ctrl + b + d>.
*To kill any session type the command- <tmux kill-session>
*To create any session tyoe the command- <tmux new -s .....>. Here the
<.....> is the name of the session.
*To delete any specific session, enter the command- <tmux kill-session -
t .....>. Here <....> is the name of the session.
*To enter any specific session, enter the command- <tmux a -t ....>. Here
<.....> is the name of the session.
*To shift the window of the tmux terminal then we press- <ctrl + b + shift +
%>. It is used for spliting the window in
Vertical style. For spliting it in horizontal style then press- <ctrl +
b + shift + "">.
*The <ctrl + b> is like prefix key.
*If you press <ctrl + b + q> then it would show us the index of all the
splited up windows.
*(Hot keys)- These are like the special commands that are commanded by
pressinf keys at the keyboard to command something.
*<ctrl + b> is the most important aspect of tmux. It is also described as <c-
b>.
*To change the name of the session, press <c-b + shift + $>. After changing
the name just press enter.
*To jump form one session form another, there is better way of jumping all
around, press- <c-b + w> then chose the session
you want.
*<c-b + arrow keys> is used for jumping to windows of a session and <c-b + w>
is used for jumping through sessions.
*<c-b + &> is used for killing all the windows of a session at once.
*The command <tmux kill-server> is used to kill all the sessions at once.
*{System_Administrative-Purposes}~
1. For forcefully deleting any file then use the command <rm -f>, after write the
name of the file with a space.
2. For enabling the root login- <sudo passwd -u root>
3. For disabling the root login- <sudo passwd -l root>
4. To list the packages installed in a system by the user manually, we use the
command- <apt-mark showmanual>.
5. *<man sudo_root>- This command could be used for getting more information about
the sudo_root and for system administrative
purposes.
