CHECKLIST FOR OFF-LINE WASHING OF

COMPRESSOR OF GAS TURBINE (GT-4401)

Turbine must be cooled 8 hours before starting offline washing

Preparations of Off-Line Washing


Recommended Action Yes No
Remove eleventh stage bleed pipes on both sides of turbine and
install blinds (04)
Disconnect the air-sealing pipe (with red-orange coating) to the
gear box bearing and install it to turbine 1st bearing sealing line to
avoid water leakage to bearing. Pressure should be 6-7 bar during
offline washing
Isolate spark plug line and spark plug from combustion chamber
Disconnect two bottom tubing connector of gas manifold to
provide drain to cleaning solution
Remove Air inlet covers to inject water for cleaning
Properly clean water tank
Arrange DM water for Offline washing of Compressor
Arrange Cleaning chemical (Tuma-clean / Zok-27)

Offline Washing
Recommended Action Yes No
Prepare Washing solution with 17L cleaning chemical and DM to
full tank for washing
Wash with approximate 3000 psig pressure at both sides of
compressor
Prepare 2nd cleaning solution with 8L tuma clean and 90L DM

water and wash compressor again from both sides of inlet duct
Prepare rinsing solution with 100L water only and rinse the
compressor
Keep turbine running at crank rpm to let it dry for 3-4 hours.
Inspect drain points for dry air after every 30 minutes.
Stop cranking of turbine when turbine is completely dry.

Box Up after Washing

Install eleventh stage bleed pipes on both sides of turbine after
removal of blinds (04)
Re-connect the air-sealing pipe (with red-orange coating) to the
gear box bearing after removing it from turbine bearing #1 as
sealing air
Install back spark plug line and spark plug
Re-connect two bottom tubing connector of gas manifold
Install back Air inlet covers
Housekeeping inside/outside of package
Shift pump, water tank and necessary tools to workshop
Necessary preparations for startup of turbine
