Using the Documentation Set Effectively
Close Help
This set contains a number of documents that are accessed per topic via the main page (HowTo for Operator documentation
and Start for Service documentation).
Using Search to Locate Information
Always use the Search function (bookmarks or button) to find information. Search activates a cross-document full-text index
that displays a list of the documents and the context in which the word was found. How To
Search also provides Advanced Search Options where you can query phrases, use boolean operators (AND/OR/NOT, use
stemming, “sounds like”, Thesaurus and proximity options, and include bookmarks or comments in the search).
Note: Documents opened via the Search Index are opened in a separate window, in addition to the currently viewed document.
Do not use the Find function (Ctrl+F) as this searches only the current document, and finds the word sequentially without
using the full-text index.
Commenting
All documents provide commenting options. Comments are useful to mark and later find frequently-used material, or to send
us your comments or requests (you can export comments to a small .fdf file via the Options button in the Comments List).
You can add your own comments using the Typewriter or the Commenting Tools (the most useful tools are Text Edits
and Highlight) .
Use the Show option to display a list of comments.
After adding comments, save the file (if you want to retain your comments for future reference inside the document collection,
save under the same name and in the same location).
Note: After saving a file, you may get an error message stating that the index is not updated. Turn off display of this message.
Navigation, Zoom and Printing
Zoom: The default zoom is full-page (fit in window), but you can use the zoom tool to view the details in any graphic
or screenshot. Click to revert to full page.
Printing: The page size is A5 landscape. For printing recommendations, read the Preface or Before You Start sections
inside the documents, where you can also find information about documentation conventions.
Navigation: The Home button at the bottom of each page always takes you back to the main page.
The Back button on each page of the documents retraces your browse sequence within the document.
