Equipment managers may seem corny or inadequate, but without them it would be difficult for your
team to compete. According to the Athletic Equipment Managers Association (AEMA) (What Is
Certification, 2008), equipment managers purchase equipment; fit equipment such as football
helmets; checks, clean, and inspect uniforms and equipment to reduce wear and risk of injury while
preserving the life of the equipment and garments as part of the budget management process; and
establish a comprehensive accountability system that includes inventory, reconditioning, and
storage. Equipment managers play a key role in intercollegiate athletics, but sports information
directors are important as well. According to Staurowsky and Abney, sports information directors are
responsible for both technical and management functions. Sports information directors basically
make sure to spread the word of an event coming up. They hand out flyers, game programs,
newsletters and a lot more stuff. Senior woman administrator is the highest ranking female
administrator involved in the management of an NCAA institution s intercollegiate athletics
department. (NCAA, 2008,
I Cannot Tell A Lie Essay
George Washington is often noted for stating I cannot tell a lie. An old proverb says honesty is the
best policy, I agree with being honest at all times. First, telling the truth is not only the right thing to
do it makes me feel good about myself. Also telling the truth is what God tells me to do. People can
tellthe truthwithout hurting each other s feelings. When someone asks something that might hurt
their feelings just change the subject, or just ignore them. That way you have a better chance of not
hurting someone s feelings. Second, one lieleads to another I know that lying can make people lie
again. I also know that from my brothers ex wife, because she is the biggest liar in the world. My
family, and I have to take everything that she says with a grain of salt. But, my mother and father
has always taught me to always be truthful from the time I was old enough to know right from
wrong. They have instilled in me that honesty is the best policy. I know by their examples that
they have set before me, and I am grateful for them teaching me right from wrong. Last, being
honest earns people my trust and respect, because they know my word is good and I am honest.
After people have been around me they learn that I am honest. As can be seen, an old proverb said
that honesty is the best policy, and I agree with being honest at all times.
First of all, being honest is the right thing to do, and I am honest. Telling the truth is what God tells
me to do. Also I
Color Polka Dots
Another installation is called I m Here, But Nothing (Kusama, 2008). The viewer would enter a
dark room which was set up as a normal kitchen, or living room. However, the room is drowned in
black light. Covered the surface of the walls as well as furniture were multiple color polka dots with
fluorescent glow in the dark paint. The author once again made used of the distinct colorwhile
manipulating lights, to create infinite pattern on a smooth color surface. The dots can be observed as
floating in the air, while defying the space within the room and still defining it. Kusama illuminated
the room only with ultraviolet fluorescent light; thus, the stickers appeared without any sense of
depth, which then is stuck in the viewer s eyes to create

Part A: Non computer Questions (4 marks) 1. In remote sensing, most units are expressed using the
metric system. For example, the near infrared region of the spectrum is comprised of
electromagnetic radiation of wavelengths extending from about 0.7 1.4 m. Express this range in:
meters using scientific notation (i.e., #.# x 10n m), and in nanometers. (1) Meters: 1 um = 10^ 6

Is this a longer or shorter wavelength than visible spectrum radiation? (1) It is a longer
wavelength than visible spectrum radiation. 3. Define the three terms in the following equation.
(2) ρ(λ) = M(λ) E (λ) P is the reflectance proportion of EMR, M is the outgoing reflectance and E is
the incoming reflectance. So in order to find the reflectance we are dividing the outgoing (M)
reflectance to the incoming reflectance (E). Part B: Field Spectroscopy (18 marks) 1. Plotting
spectral reflectance signatures: a. From the spectroradiometer data, plot the spectral reflectance
curves for the 3 non vegetated target types and 2 vegetation types. Display all spectral curves on
one graph (graphs should be properly labeled). (3) b. Describe the spectral curve of each target
type with respect to its absorption and reflectance characteristics. (3) Grass and Soil: Grass and
Soil have a moderately high reflectance they absorb about 65% and reflect about 35%. The spectral
reflectance for the grass and soil typically increases when the wavelength increases, then it stays
relatively constant and it increases again. Maple Leaf
Evaluation Of Information From The Wider Marketing...
Environmental audit Environmental audit, which is the systematic collection and evaluation of
information from the wider marketing environment which might affect the organisation and its
strategic marketing activities, is undertaken by marketing planners (pg. 333, Marketing Planning
2007 2008, Karen Beamish, Ruth Ashford). It is undertaken on a daily basis as it is considered to be
very important for reputation management and public relations. Marketers should be aware of the
changes in environment that could potentially bring impact on factors like customers, competitors,
suppliers and markets. Although, the organisations are unable to control the players of the

The company could damage its image in market if any delay occurs due to political unrest in
these parts of the world. Economical: After the world was hit by recession in late 00, it is
gradually improving its economic stability. Oil prices have hit record high in past years causing
inflation in world s economy. Under such conditions, consumer s purchasing power has reduced;
as such they are not willing to spend money on electronic goods. Growth of unemployment rate in
USA and Europe is a growing concern in recent years. Also currency exchange rate is really
fluctuating in the course of recession, especially rate of dollar against euro and pound. According to
the financial times, it is expected that US economy will take longer to recover from recession than
any other countries in the world, resulting the loss in the value of US dollar. Social: Health safety
and environmental protection have come up as major issues in today s society in where Apple runs
its business. Today electronic industry would require further more certification and testing, resulting
in the increase in the cost, in order to reduce the impact of high tech trash on the environment. A
number of rules to safely dispose the electronic goods have been implemented in several countries
where Apple operates its business which may adversely affect the financial condition of the
company. Particularly, European Union adopts this regulation, where Apple shares a big
The Real Sex Addiction Essay
In this time period, there are many different disorders and illnesses that go unnoticed, and unknown.
Society creates stereotypes about illnesses such as obsessive compulsive disorder, clinical
Depression, and many other mental afflictions. Another that seems to remain controversial and
misunderstood is sexual compulsive behaviors. Many see it as an excuse to act a certain way, or
think a certain way; in reality it is a serious mental disorder that can cause devastating effects on the
people that are consumed by them and the people who are around them. Something that is however,
known about sexual compulsive behaviors is that there are certain things that can emotionally
damage a person and cause them to have these behaviors. The three... Show more content on

Using the term sexual compulsive behaviors is more appropriate because it addresses the symptoms
that some term as sex addiction , but use a term that is more effective in describing what it really is
and how it should be treated. A person uses sexual compulsive behaviors because they lack in some
other area, such a coping mechanisms, or because they have insecure personal attachments.
Something has to cause these behaviors, they aren t caused by any chemical like drugs and alcohol.
Another major argument about this subject arises because it is in human nature to feel the need to
reproduce and to have sex. This makes treating the problem baffling , because it goes against
human nature to completely cut out all forms of sex. This is another reason why sex addiction is
incorrect terminology, because sex isn t hurtful to oneself, however it does become a problem
when it starts to affect a person s life in detrimental ways. It only becomes a problem when it is out
of control. It is normal for some people to have a higher sex drive then others, and it is healthy to
want to have multiple partners. The problem comes into play when it is needed for emotional
purposes, to need validation and affection. Only then is it considered unhealthy, because people
should have secure relationships, and coping mechanisms that can help them get the feelings they
need. Just like many other compulsive behaviors, sexual compulsive behaviors can be treated, just not
Changes in the Role of Women Between the Sixteenth and the...
Over long periods of time change is often inevitable. One such instance of change throughout history
is that of family members and their role in not only the family, but also in society as a whole.
Although changes can be seen in the roles of every family member, it can be argued that the role of
women in the family, especially that of mothers, changed the most. Between the sixteenth century
and the twentieth century, the role that mothers played in the family and in society changed greatly.
Since the sixteenth century, one of the most important roles of mothers, or women in general, was to
have children. Although most women accepted this role and believed it was their duty to have
children, not every womanwas pleased with this... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One common way in which the number of births was limited was by marrying late. Although this
provided some reduction in the number of children a woman had, once she was married she would
begin to have children at regular intervals.
While in general women during this time period gave birth to many children, social class had an
impact on just how many children a mother had. Prior to the nineteenth century, poor women had
fewer children than wealthy women even though at the time their role was the same; to procreate.
Some reasons as to why wealthy women had more children than poor women include health, loss
of husbands, and breast feeding. Poorer women were less likely than wealthy women to have
enough to eat. A lack of nutrients could result in amenorrhea and miscarriages as well as other
reproductive problems. Also, with the staggering death rates, women were likely to lose their
husbands before they reached menopause. While wealthy women would sometimes remarry for
economic or social reasons, poor women would commonly remain widows. Finally, wealthy women
were likely to put their babies out to wet nurses while poor women would usually nurse their own
children. Breast feeding actually reduces fertility after child birth leading to longer intervals between
pregnancies for poor women. By the nineteenth century, the role of mothers had not changed in
regard to the responsibility of bearing children. However, what did change was their role in deciding
College And Career Research Essay
College and Career Research Essay
By, Darien Carson
The future; after high school, after college, the future is a later time period that will happen in one
s life. For my future I plan to attend college and later become an engineer. College is one of the best
choices available for high school graduates to ensure a successful future. Colleges offer specialized
learning that when attended can open many opportunities. Two colleges I may attend after high
school are Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) or California Institute of Technology
(Caltech). After college I plan to choose a career in the field of engineering. Two career possibilities
are Aerospace Engineering or Biomedical Engineering. By researching these two universities and
two possible careers, I have learned about the many possibilities that lie ahead for my future.
One feasible college I may attend to become an engineer is MIT. To attend MIT a minimum GPA
of 3.5 is required although a 4.0 is recommended. If I continue to work hard, I can keep my
current GPA of a 4.0 and later attend MIT. Massachusetts Institute of Technology not only offers
the classes required to become an aerospace engineer it also provides a suitable living
environment and aids 85% of freshmen with financial aid up to 100% tuition cost. Since, MIT is a
private university their acceptance rate is low, and the cost are high, one year tuition is $47,000. An
additional $15,520 would be spent on room and board, books and supplies, and
Napoleon And Satire
Charlie Chaplin and Horace do a phenomenal job entertaining and explaining the idea and use of
satire in both of their works. The satire in Horace s Book I Sat I and satire in Modern Times are
different as satire in Horace uses satire in the ideas of people such as merchants and soldiers, while
satire in Modern Times is about the things happening around the little tramp and the things the little
tramp is doing. They are also similar as they both use many types of satirical devices such as irony
and both use humor to entertain the idea of satire.
In book I satire I, Horace begins essentially complaining about others complaining about themselves.
How come, Maecenas, no one alive s ever content with the lot he chose or the fate threw in his way .
The Doors Opened by Reading
To say it was a dark and stormy night would be a gross understatement. It was colder than a witch

Last Knight by Hilari Bell is an awe inspiring book that brings medieval tales to life. Being able to
comprehend the words written onto a piece of paper is a passion of mine. As a fan of mystical
literature I have been inspired by Christopher Paolini, an author, that taught me no matter how
young you are you can accomplish anything. My goal is to help share the wonders of reading with
others, inspire others as Christopher Paolini has me, and to one day be able to share my writing
with the world in hope it will bring joy to others. I ve had the mundane book in my backpack for
days now, reluctant to open its drab cover. I should probably return it to the library and tell my
teacher I read it. Reading is overrated anyway so why bother? , was my initial reaction as I picked
up the colossal 700 page book in 4th grade . I hadn t much interest in the humdrum book , leading
me to look up a summary online. Instead of the plot summary I was hoping for, I found the life story
of Christopher Paolini, author and creator of the Inheritance cycleseries. Christopher started writing
in high school when he was 15 years old, published his first book when he was 16 and
Research Paper On Kid Jaywalking
As people think that jaywalking or running a stop sign, driving while on the phone something like
that, they think it is not that big of a deal as rape or auto theft even murder. Some people say oh it
is not going to hurt someone or I will see that person if they are jaywalking or see that person that
ran the stop sign I will stop for the stop sign runner and honk my horn. What most people do not
know is that it is still illegal to do that stuff just as much as grand theft auto, because what if you
do not see a kid jaywalking but he definitely sees the car a while back. What if the kid does not

No no they will not, because what if that one person is trying to escape someone or trying to run
out from the cops, then that person will not be like, Oh yea hold guys this guy right here is trying
to cross the street when he could have just used the crosswalk or just waited can we wait for his/her
safe passing that would be so great and thankful. No they will just keep on driving. People driving
under the influence or a DUI as it is referred to will not stop they will try to but nope. Consumers
of automobiles will mostly try to explain why they could not stop for the kid or that they tried to.
People have died even in crosswalks why, because people just have somewhere so important so be
that they are like screw it I have taken prescription medication or I only had a few beers I am good
to drive and I know I will not hit anyone . But you never
Essay A Glimpse into Sociability, Temperament and the Brain
No Longer Gage: A Glimpse into Sociability, Temperament and the Brain
For over a century, the case of Phineas Gage has intrigued everyone interested in the functioning and
malfunctioning of the brain. Recently, Gage s brain has been thoroughly examined and the damaged
area has been more exactly pinpointed. The solving of the Phineas Gage case, however, has served
only to raise more questions, particularly those concerning morality, judgment, and the internal sense
of self. If the mechanisms responsible for these markers of human sociability and temperament are
simply functions of the nervous system, where, exactly, are they located? What do they do when they
are functioning? What do they do when they are malfunctioning? Through the ... Show more content

Although Dr. Harlow reasoned that the damage was done to the frontal lobes of Gage s brain,
nineteenth century science had a hard time accepting the notion that a dollop of gray jelly could
govern something so transcendent as social behavior . The exact location of the trauma was found
recently (1994) during examinations of Gage s skull using photography, x rays and 3 D computer
modeling. These have shown that the regions of the frontal lobes essential for intellectual, motor
and language function, the motor strip and Broca s area, were left intact. The lower middle
portions of both frontal lobes, however, were damaged. More specifically, the ventromedial region
of the frontal lobe was destroyed, particularly on the left side. This localized damage seems to have
been responsible for the temperamental and behavioral alterations. The process of an individual s
education and maturation can be seen as the establishment of plans of actions and responses that are
influenced by basic drives, but...achieved through socially acceptable means. (Particular frontal
areas) may be the structures in which most such patterns of behavior are inscribed and
The Is The Rationalization Of The Store Of Department...
Mcdonaldization, according to George Ritzer, is the rationalization taken to its extreme. I have
the luxury of being employed by Sears, company which is a chain of department stores across the
country. At Sears, I am an appliances sales consultant. A normal day in this position consist of
arriving on time to get my reports for the day. These reports are different customer information,
complains, and request that have to be dealt with by either me, or I have to find the appropriate
person to be able to help. Once that is taken care of, it is my job to catch up on the appliances the
Sears sells and formulation a salespitch that will successfully persuade the customer to buy their
appliances during their visit. This consist of finding out the known problems, known questions,
and solutions that have worked for other people. After this is done, it is time to engage the
customer. Sears has what they call know your expert , in which a customer now has the ability to
shop online in a more efficient manner. Appliances, unlike other products, is harder to shop online
for because the customer wants to see and touch the product. Know your expert allows the
customer to go online, find products they are interested in, fill out specific features they would like,
and then go into to the store and have an expert explain the product that is comparable to their
selection. Of course, my job is to do what is right for the company first, and if I can help the
customer while doing that,
Dr. Seuss Propaganda Analysis
Next:
Dr. Seuss is a household name from Hawaii to New York and from Florida to Alaska. He is seen as
America s favorite writer for children s books. He work has inspired millions of children to fallow
his values and has a message in each book that is timeless, yet he has one major criticism that is
sometimes overlooked. During Dr. Seuss s propaganda writing days in World War 2 he
dehumanized the Japanese Emperor Hirohito yet Hitler looked normal in each piece of
propaganda. In the United States their was a fear of a Japanese invasion of the west coast. The fear
was creating a mass hysteria in which white Americans lost trust in the Japanese citizens of the
United States. Dr. Seuss shared this fear as did most Americans and it showed in his ... Show more

Seuss spent his life Influencing American society. In the first half of his life he influenced
America with his advertising campaigns in the 30 s to his political cartoons and propaganda in
the 40 s. He spent the second half of his life writing children s books to influence the next
generation to fix what he saw was wrong in America s culture and society. He used his gift of
drawing to bring his characters to life, which imbedded the messages he wanted to convey in the
minds of each of his readers. He left the world completing his goal of changing American society, but
as he died; his legacy did not die with him. Today the Dr. Seuss s work is still apart of many children
s childhoods, and as long as children fall in love with the timeless works of Dr. Seuss, his messages
will go on effecting American society and culture. He was not a hero as heroes are remembered but
legends never die, and Dr. Seuss is a
