Advantages
● 5G IoT Applications for Drones : 5g network we will be able to increase the range of signals with high
resolution video and low latency. These advancements will allow us to use the drones for a purpose of rescue,
delivery, security of borders and more.
● Massive IoT Use Cases for 5G: a prediction from IHS/Statistica that the devices that are connected to the
internet will increase from 2% to 10% by the end of 2025 throughout the world. The massive increase in devices
will lead to the increase in demand of the network that is on the infrastructure of communication
● 5G Iot Applications in Industrial Automation: Cost efficient, flexible and application viability are some of the
key benefits of 5G in the automation of industry. there is a requirement of constant communication to robot with
factory. This will enable the combination of human-machines, as these two can work together efficiently and
effectively.
Antenna Types in 5G
● MASSIVE MIMO (mMIMO): It is a base station having multiple elements - multiple users, greater capacity, faster
data Massive MIMO antennas will be used by 5G having large numbers of elements of antennas to send and receive
more data at the same time. This will enable the large number of users to connect to the network and can access the
same speed throughout the connection. The physical size of 5G antenna is expected similar to 4G antenna.
● MIMO - Beam Steering: It is a technology that allows the signal of the Massive MIMO to the devices and users
instead of directing it in all directions. Algorithm of advanced signal processing is used in the technology of beam
steering, to reach the devices and users by determining the best radio signal path. As the interference is reduced, it
results in the increase in efficiency. EMF is optimised by Beam steering and Massive MIMO antenna.
Antenna Types in 5G
Active & Passive Antennas:
Active and passive antennas are not similar to each other as phase’s active control and amplitude to subarrays that
allow it for beamforming. Beamforming controls the RF energy as an antenna array is derived by it in a way that the
antenna is controlled and shaped as required.
passive antennas requires electronic components that are to be adjusted manually or electronically during the process
of installation. and on the other hand, there is a requirement of continuous electronic adjustment by active antennas.
there is a trend which is growing toward RF technology and digital integration in order to lower the cost of antenna
system.
