Option Chain File Using Guide

NIFTY –BN OPTION CHAIN

EXCEL FILE GUIDE


The idea of this file is to help someone with basic excel knowledge to be able to use the file
to make better decision after learning about OI

This file is not for commercial purpose and intended for retail trader to be able to safeguard
their capital in Futures and Options segment

It is highly recommended that someone with knowledge in excel only can use the sheet as
sometimes it may be required to update some parameters to link data from NSE Site. For
that Matter, even I went through many online videos to learn, understand and implement it

MAIN SHEET- OTHER KEY SHEETS
• INPUT-DETAILS, this is the main sheet from where we run the macro after clicking the refresh button and
ensure that data is refreshed
• To ensure data is refreshed, you must click Data tab and then click on Queries & connections so that they
show the required OI data is loaded, else it gives error

After clicking Data>Queries & Connections, click REFRESH macro, this REFRESH has to load the OI
data of Nifty and BN in their sheets kept in the end.
Check if there is no error, if error is there then re-refresh from the macro or click Refresh All from
the Data tab, sometimes this may delay a bit. Be Patient
Now Click on RUN_ALL_MACROS; This MACRO will print data at that time

Select the third option of option-chain-indices, click connect and then click the REFRESH macro

Today since it is an expiry, it is troubling for longer time,
may be from tomorrow it will not create a problem
KEY SHEETS TO TAKE NOTE OF
• The Key sheets to be considered are,
• NIF: Contains timely print of Nifty Data of up to 15 strikes from ATM
• BN: Contains timely print for BN Data of up to 15 strikes from ATM
• NIFTY_15_OC: Contains Nifty 31 strikes data with proper graphical
representation for easy understanding of what is happening
• BANKNIFTY_15_OC: Contains Bank Nifty 31 strikes data with proper graphical
representation for easy understanding of what is happening
• NIFTY_FULL_OC: Contains all OI Data for Nifty, it is good to check at the morning
that the Data from NSE is properly loaded and available
• BANKNIFTY_FULL_OC: Contains all OI Data for Bank Nifty, it is good to check at
the morning that the Data from NSE is properly loaded and available
• RAW_NIFTY_DATA & RAW_BANKNIFTY_DATA: This contains the loaded OI Data
NIF SHEET
• This sheet contains data of 31 strikes of nifty that is printed at every time point
NIFTY_15_OC SHEET
• This sheet contains present Nifty data of 31 strikes of the day
NIFTY_FULL_OC SHEET
• This sheet contains present Nifty data of All strikes but the formula has to be dragged accordingly everyday morning so that it
works smoothly. Someone with excel knowledge will know how to do it.
NIFTY_FULL_OC SHEET- ISSUES
• This sheet contains present Nifty data of All strikes but the formula has to be dragged accordingly everyday morning so that it
works smoothly. Someone with excel knowledge will know how to do it.

Formula in these columns have to be dragged in order to get complete data, sometimes you may be
required to delete it. For this reason, it is better to have some working knowledge before using this excel
Same update to be made in BANKNIFTY_FULL_OC SHEET
BANK NIFTY SHEETS
• The Sheets shown for Nifty are also available for Bank Nifty, you can
make the adjustments according to your comfort

• The Sheets of RAW_NIFTY_DATA and RAW_BANKNIFTY_DATA are


present to load the OI data from NSE when we click the refresh. This
will reduce our time in going to the NSE site, and refreshing and
scrolling etc.

• With this excel, life and understanding becomes very easy is what I feel.
