Nimbalkar Sandesh Seminar PPT Final

This document describes a project presentation on a smart music player that uses facial emotion detection and music mood recommendation. The project aims to automatically play songs based on the detected emotion of the user by analyzing their facial expressions through a camera, without requiring manual selection. It discusses modules for emotion extraction using CNNs, a recommendation system to generate playlists tailored to the user's mood, and an application to test the system. The current system is an improvement over existing emotion-based music players by integrating both emotion and music genre classification.

Project Title : SMART MUSIC PLAYER USING FACIAL EMOTIONDETECTION AND MUSIC MOOD
RECOMMENDATION

Project Domain : MACHINE LEARNING

Project Group Members:

T150098530 , LALGE PRIYANKA RAMESH

Problem statement

Music listeners have tough time creating and segregating the play-list
manually.
User’s have to manually select songs every time based on interest and mood
.
Currently, there are no applications that allows users to play
songs on-the-go without selecting songs manually or from a play-list.
motivation

To provide the better platform to all music listenrs ,and ensures automation of song

selection and periodic updating of playlists.

This helps users organize and play songs based on their moods

the player should also give recommendation for users to change

songs.

To help users have more customized and organized play-lists.

Aim and oBjective of the project

 To implement Convolution Neural Networks for

classification of facial expressions.

 User facial expression based recommended music player.

 This system based on extraction of facial expressions that

will generate a

 playlist automatically thereby reducing the effort and

time.

SEMINAR TOPIC

Emotion Based Music Player

INTRODUCTION

 Using Traditional Music System ,A User Had To Manually Browse Via His
Playlist And Select Songs That Would Be Based On The Individuals Mood And
Emotional Experience .

 Music Plays A Very Vital Role To Amplify An Individual Life As It An Major

Medium Of Entertainment For Melody Lovers And Listeners And Sometimes
Even Imparts A Therapeutic Approach Or Counsellor.

 Generally A Play List Based On Current Emotion State And Behaviour Of User.
Literature Survey

 Jung Hyun Kim Created Based Music Mood Model And Implementation Of Music Recommendation System
Using The Mood Model. {2017 IEEE International Symposium On Signal Processing And Information
Technology }
 Emotisphere: From Emotion To Music {TEI 2015,stanford ,USA}
 Emotion Detection By Speech Based Relevant Feature (3rd International Conference Of Imformatics)
 Audio – Visual Emotion Recognition By Gaussian Mixture (10th Ieee International Symposium )
Evolution of Music system
EXISTING SYSTEM

• Existing System Consist Of Classification Of Either Only Emotion Or Music Genre But There Is
No System Collaborating Both The Features.

• Based On The Current Emotion State And Behaviour Of A User ,Existing System Possess A
Lesser Accuracy In Generation Of A Playlists.

• Some Existing System Tend To Employe The Use Of Human Speech Or Sometimes Even The
Use Of Addition Hardware For Generation Of An Automated Playlists.
CONTENT

• Music express emotion.

• Music induced emotion.
• Power of music.
Contents of the Seminar

Emotion Extraction Module

Image of user is captured through camera and stored .

The image is converted to a binary image format , put into bitmap and then processed by performing
mathematical calculations
Recommendation Module

This module is responsible for generating a playlist of relevant songs for the
user . It allows the user to modify the class labels of the songs as well. The
working of the recommendation module is explained

Advantages and Disadvantage.

Advantages -
-Easy to use.

-No trouble of troublesome selection of songs.

-Can be used in vehicles.

Disadvantages-
-Camera captured images depend highly on the amount of luminescence.

-Mixed mood detection is not provided by the application.

-It is able to judge only one mood at a time.

APPLICATION
 Automatically play song based on the
emotion of the user.

 Recommending for Youtube.

 Smart TV.

 Personal Assistant.
Conclusion
 Thus the application developed will reduce the efforts of user in creating
and managing playlist.

 It will provide better enjoyment to the music listeners by providing the

most suitable or appropriate song to the user according to his/her
current emotion.

 It will not only help user but also the songs are systematically sorted.
Future Scope for Implementation:

 Can detect sleepy mood while driving.

 Can be used to determine mood of physically challenged & mentally

challenged people.
