 We will Familiarize ourself
with the Excel window layout.
 The Ribbon contains tabs with
groups of commands.
 The Worksheet is the grid area
where data is entered and
manipulated
Data entry
 Click on a cell to select
it, then type to enter data.
 Press Enter to move to
the next cell.
 Use the fill handle to
quickly copy data or
create a series.
Basic Formulas

1.Formulas in Excel start with an


equal sign (=).
2.Use +, -, *, / for addition,
subtraction, multiplication, and
division.
3.Cell references allow you to
perform calculations using data
from specific cells.
Functions in excel

formulas in Excel.
• Use the SUM function to
add a range of cells.

you insert functions easily.
Formatting data
• Formatting helps make your data

appealing.

Sorting and filtering data
