Different between 2D&3D Software

2D Software:
1. Works with two-dimensional objects (length and width)
2. Used for graphic design, digital painting, illustration, and
image editing
3. Objects are flat, with no depth or volume
4. Typically uses vectors (lines and curves) or raster (pixels)
graphics
 5. Examples: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, GIMP
Different between 2D&3D Software

3D Software:
1. Works with three-dimensional objects (length,
width, and depth)
2. Used for modeling, animation, simulation, and
rendering
3. Objects have depth, volume, and texture
4. Typically uses polygons (meshes), NURBS
(curves), or subdivision surfaces
 5. Examples: Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, Cinema 4D
Different between 2D&3D Software

Key differences:
1. Dimensionality: 2D is flat, while 3D has depth and
volume
2. Object representation: 2D uses vectors or pixels,
while 3D uses polygons, NURBS, or subdivision surfaces
3. Purpose: 2D is for graphic design, image editing, and
illustration, while 3D is for modeling, animation,
simulation, and rendering
 4. Complexity: 3D software typically requires more
processing power and technical expertise than 2D
software

• Types of 3D Printers :

1. Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) Printers:

- Use melted plastic to create objects layer by layer
- Most common and affordable type
- Examples: Monoprice, Prusa, Creality
2. Stereolithography (SLA) Printers:
- Use resin and laser light to create highly detailed objects
- Produce smooth, accurate prints
- Examples: Form 2, Ultimaker, Elegoo
3. Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) Printers:
- Use powder and laser light to create strong, durable
objects
- Often used for industrial and commercial applications
• - Examples: Sintratec, Sinterit, Farsoon
4. Binder Jetting Printers:
- Use liquid binder to “glue” together powdered material
- Fast and affordable, but may lack detail
- Examples: ExOne, McAlister
5. Directed Energy Deposition (DED) Printers:
- Use focused beam of energy (laser or electron) to melt
and deposit metal
- Often used for repairing and adding features to existing
parts
- Examples: Sciaky, Optomec
6. Laminated Object Manufacturing (LOM) Printers:
- Use layers of paper or sheet material bonded together
with adhesive
7. Powder Bed Fusion (PBF) Printers:
- Use laser or electron beam to fuse together
powdered metal
- Produce strong, complex metal parts
- Examples: EOS, Concept Laser
8. Hybrid Printers:
- Combine multiple printing technologies in one
machine
- Offer flexibility and versatility
• - Examples: MakerGear, Hybrid
