 Now Musk Facing a class action suit. He also asked to pay 500 million dollar to pay the staff
he fired.
Jet Airways- Retrenchment
 Close to 2000 employees are being laid off as a major cost cutting
exercise in October 2008
 Unethical Act- They were fired without prior notice, poor compensation,
and lower staff bear the burnt
 Against the Deontological ethics which state that man should be an end
in itself and not as mean to achieve end.
 Companies keep focus on customer satisfaction when its own people are
so highly dissatisfied.

WHAT IS ETHICS

 Ethics is a word derived from the Greek word ethos, It refers to the
conduct or character.
 Immanuel Kant- “Ethics is the rational investigation of the
principles and rules that guide human behaviour, focusing on the
inherent worth and dignity of rational beings”.
 Chamber's Dictionary defines it as, 'the science of morals'. And 'that
branch of philosophy which is concerned with human character and
conduct

capacity as employees, employers and managers.
