Anti-Matter
Robin & Steve, 1.5k
Steve doesn't say anything when Will tells them all his big secret. Robin notices.
Robin snags Steve by the elbow as they’re packing up the truck and pulls him into the employee bathroom of the radio station. It feels weirdly circular, but it’s also the only place she’s reasonably certain they won’t be overheard or interrupted, and she needs to have this conversation before they go into— whatever it is they’re about to go into. The Upside Down, for one. “Jeez, Robin, what the hell?” “Sorry!” she says, when he pulls his wrist from her grip and rubs at it. “Sorry, I just needed to talk to you.” He looks at her like she’s losing it. “In the bathroom?” “No I mean— look, where doesn’t matter.” Robin makes sure the door is latched behind her, then slugs Steve in the shoulder. “That wasn’t cool back there. I know you’re cool with me so why didn’t you say something to Will?” If anything, Steve looks even more confused. “What are you talking about?” They don’t have time for this. “When Will said that stuff about what he was afraid of. We all told him it was okay, but you didn’t say anything.” “I totally said something.” “I was sitting right in front of you. You definitely didn’t say anything.” He stares at her for a second, then looks away, turns to face the mirror. Gotcha.
