When you see little setups of nativity scenes, remember the women of Palestine currently giving birth in atrocious conditions like Maryam - whom you call Mary - when she was giving birth to Issa, whom you call Jesus.

When you think of Maryam and Issa facing a hostile world together remember the impossible situation that families find themselves in in Ghazzah, suffering blockades, siege, bombings. Only to be labeled as terrorists and in need of extermination for the crimes of being Palestinians and Arabs.

When you think of Christmas, you should think of the Palestinian Christians who have been bombed in their churches, nearly exterminated in their own city of Ghazzah by the unending air strikes of the occupation.

When you think of Issa's childhood, you should think of Beit Lahm - which you call Bethlehem - being invaded. You should think of Christian Palestinians including little boys being kidnapped everyday to be tortured in zionist occupation prisons for the crimes of being Palestinian and Arab.

You should think of Palestinians as Issa and Maryam's people. Hundreds of generations later, their condition is now the condition of Palestinians in Ghazzah as a whole.

Christmas is a day of mourning.

The hometown of Issa, Beit Lahm, is not celebrating Christmas. There is nothing to celebrate when our people are being slaughtered.
