Do you know what it means for a child to die from cold? It means their body temperature drops dangerously (hypothermia). The heart struggles to pump blood, oxygen fails to reach the brain, breathing slows down, and one organ after another shuts down… until the child freezes to death in silence.

In Gaza, 21 children did not die from cold alone, they died from the world’s abandonment.

For more than two weeks, I have been pleading with you. I have four children, and we live in a tent after our home and life were destroyed. I am powerless to do anything without your help.

I told you my children barely recover from coughing and fever before falling ill again. I told you that water seeps under our tent and through the fabric, soaking my children’s beds. They wake up wet, with blue fingers and toes, shivering from the cold. I see them and can do nothing but beg you.

I am trying to rent a house, the only solution I have right now, but it is expensive, and we don’t have enough money to move to a warm place for them. So please, this time, don’t ignore this plea.

Don’t fail us this time. My children are literally dying from the cold. A one-year-old’s airway cannot tolerate breathing cold air outdoors, and the tent is like being outside, the temperature inside and outside are the same.
