in 1966, andy warhol hosted the world's first "mod wedding" in detroit. in addition to the marriage between randy mcnair and gary norris, the night's line-up included the velvet underground performing a set with nico and a man from the warhol entourage smashing in the roof of an old desoto with a sledgehammer.
