I wish ve schwab delved more into the mental healths of the characters post acol or how everything affected their mental health and ability to heal. Especially Rhy.

Like in terms of mental health impact I think Rhy had it by far the worst. Alucard technically lost the most loved ones, but this isn’t the worst that happened to him. Lila and Kell lost people important to them, but so did everyone else.

Not only did Rhy lose his parents (fyi he’s the only character with a healthy relationship to his parents), but he was unable to do anything much to contribute to Osarons defeat because he had no powers despite being the fucking king. He was forced into the role of King during a time he wasn’t ready and everyone expected him to just save the world. It’s already known he feels inferior and useless, but can you imagine how he feels knowing that everyone had to save him again and that if he were stronger both his parents would’ve lived? can you imagine how guilty he feels knowing his parents died because he wasn’t strong enough? knowing his brother almost died and he couldn’t do anything to help, but a grey London girl could? like he probably has so much self hatred it’s crazy. And to top it all off he was dealing with mixed feelings regarding Alucard, having to watch everyone leave him to do something productive when all he could do was sit on his ass and wait for help, and having the insane responsibility all of a sudden for an entire country all at the ripe age of 20. I wouldn’t be surprised if he were borderline suicidal, tbh.
