@Ketzexi One thing to remember is that magma is good ONLY so long as it can be harnessed. Should it NOT be able to be harnessed it has the affect of harming Firemom's children as well as land. So, her post might refer to something so cataclysmic that it could wipe out her flight, which she naturally wouldn't want. As for the emperor, I don't think the emperor came from Ice. I believe that emperors are formed whenever the conditions are right and they are dealt with right then and there. Considering that it says that an emperor is one of the few things that can bring the deities into play, I doubt they would take the chance of 'freezing' one, if indeed they even can. (ie, if one deity could have that much control over the emperor.)
I agree with your points on Flamecaller and the fact that the emperor DID NOT come from the ice, but I disagree with the fact that he can't freeze one. Icewarden's job is to lock away horrors/monsters/troubledoers, and his quote is very clear in that. I'm pretty sure he would probably be the go-to for emperor catching if anything, and I wonder if this will be expanded upon in the lore or if he'll do anything at all. I sure hope he does, that'll be cool. @Jemadar

I look at this way: His job is to lock away horrors, but there are horrors and then there are emperors. I feel that because emperors can embody multiple elements in one entity, it would be very difficult for Icewarden to contain all the elements.

The current emperor has (forgive me if I can't remember correctly) Fire, Wind and Arcane? elements. I don't know the weakness/strengths from the coliseum, but if one of those elements is one that ice is weak to, then I am sure that, even though Icewarden is a deity, it would be too risky for him to attempt to control it. After all, if it got loose, then we are right back here. Plus, this one is a 3 headed emperor. Imagine trying to contain 11 different elements at one time.

My thoughts are mainly that when/if emperors spawn, the deities' main goal is eliminate rather than capture.

However, there is another possibility: What if, instead of capturing and containing EMPERORS, icewarden (and potentially earthshaker from their lore and quotes) have the jobs of containing the imperials that make up emperors. One of the things that could be inferred from the lore we got about it, is that the individual imps that make up this emperor are 'siblings'. HOwever, they are all different elements. While that IS possible if their parents were travelers and had nests in all different territories, what if it means more simply that they were once an emperor before and had been 'disassembled' and perhaps each 'body' was hidden in various lands (perhaps that is what the dragons in earth were digging up, bodies of imperials that had fused to make emperors)

After all, the main head was talking about seeing their other siblings again, so that implies that there are potentially more heads to this emperor, but they haven't 'reconnected' (pardon the pun) yet.

@jemadar I find it weird how theoretically a deity would be able to take like 23,000 dragons all ambushing before "fainting"(according to how the coli works, there was an interesting thread about it, since each dragon could only do like what, 1 damage to the deities considering they're lvl 100, idk the thread link but I can maybe find it later) and yet the emperors are seen as these monstrous beings that have multiple elements and can rival the gods, when they're just a few zombified imperials together that shouldn't be able to do that much to the deities theoretically.
I don't know the weakness/strengths from the coliseum, but if one of those elements is one that ice is weak to,
Wait what, there are weaknesses in coli? I didn't know that and I frequent there. XD I don't think a deity fighting an emperor and Icewarden containing one would be an issue at all, though it's hard to know considering how vague the lore is and how powerful the emperors are being hard to discern(conditions are so vague that either of us could be right. I saw a thread in the ice forums talking about fighting an emperor in their lore and maybe having Icewarden himself come to fight it. The lore DOES say that emperors are one of the few occasions that might draw a deity from their lair. Them coming out would be pointless unless they're going to fight it, right?) Considering they're deites I think they'd be strong enough, they're just lazy and do nothing??? There's a severe deficiency of deity intervention. Anyway, despite the many elements an emperor may possess, once something is frozen, it can't really...move...or use those elements...or even be aware it's trapped. Icewarden has probably trapped worse, and I don't see how a few dead imperials smacked together is more challenging than some of the horrors that we don't even know of. As Icewarden said himself in his quote, we are unaware of what creatures exactly he has managed to lock away.
However, there is another possibility: What if, instead of capturing and containing EMPERORS, icewarden (and potentially earthshaker from their lore and quotes) have the jobs of containing the imperials that make up emperors.
Any imperial can become/join an emperor. The deities don't contain all dead imperials. That'd be silly. The conditions to make an emperor are up in the air, however we are told in Imperial species description in the encyclopedia that they have a special way of burying their dead(far far away from each other), probably to lessen the chances of emperors. It's unclear how they happen, but you wouldn't want undead imperial siblings meeting up and combining into emperors easily when these conditions do cause this to happen.
One of the things that could be inferred from the lore we got about it, is that the individual imps that make up this emperor are 'siblings'.
They probably seek out their own, which is why imperials bury their dead far apart. You wouldn't want a family together so that if they became undead they'd all join onto the body. it'd be easier to find the rest of their family if they're together.
HOwever, they are all different elements. Emperors come from dead imperials, again, circumstances on how unclear. I don't believe they came from past emperors. If so the problem would easily be solved by locking up all the originial ones. Burying them would be silly and ineffective as that's how they form in the first place. They are zombified Imperials. As for the element thing, I don't know. Travelling parents, maybe, like you stated?
After all, the main head was talking about seeing their other siblings again, so that implies that there are potentially more heads to this emperor, but they haven't 'reconnected' (pardon the pun) yet.
I think the siblings in this case was literal, or the imperials may just view the other random imperials they found as siblings. It's clear to see that they were alive imperials before, as they were talking about their family name and being hatchlings and having parents and all that. I don't believe emperors are malicious, just unaware of the monstrosities they're committing. Sorry if my points are repetitive or dumb or anything writing long things is confusing,,,,
