Entire site: We want scattersight vials in the marketplace, to apply to our pre-existing dragons.
FR Staff: No.

But it's really not the entire site though.
I understand people's frustration for those who want old dragons to have access to every piece of new content, but it's not universal.
I, and I am sure others do too, love the idea of mutations at birth. I am disappointed there is such a vocal anger towards the concept, because i would have loved to see this concept expanded. Eye details are almost indiscernible on most adult dragons, so it could have been a test from the team for the mutation concept.
I guess it failed but excitement about what breeding is going to get you, for me it beats a thousand times the possibility of giving goat eye to an old dragon when i'd have to squint to see the difference at all.
And I don't see the problem with having new dragons being more evolved than the ancient ones, there is a charm to it too, we have enough lair space these days to keep our old ones and getting excited about mutations for the younger ones.
For instance, i did not scatter every one of my old dragons after the color wheel update, and as much as i love the new colors, i like having my vintage dragons with those old classic colors like obsidian, coral and stone...

I agree with the first comment about eye types having individual vials, at least bring back the scattersight vials, please! Perhaps have an annual time where they come back to the gem marketplace, like the wildclaw scrolls, offer them in the coliseum annually, or make them a baldwin's brew feature :)
If you are in need of more site purchases for whatever reason, those might be good options! Especially since it takes a lot of vials to get a specific desired eye type
I appreciate the element of surprise but since we have a vial to remove eye mutations, I think we should bring the scattersight back. We only had a week to gather them and the new eye types were/are a huge deal.
You guys do so much and work hard for us and we appreciate it, this is something that frustrates a lot of us, though. Please bring back the scattersights :(

You want to make goat available for old dragons and scatter vials a cycled gem item...
[s]side note, I can’t believe they haven’t locked this thread yet, that’s kind of their go to response[/s]

The thing is that old dragons have value to the people who own them. You said yourself there at the end -- the old colors on some of your older dragons bring you joy. It's the same thing for everyone else who is being vocal about this: We love what dragons we have, and the fact that they're locked out of the eye updates makes us unhappy.
People don't like the idea of mutations because FR started with, and has always had up until recently, a very strict and predictable breeding mechanic. It makes breeding projects possible. If you want something weird, you have a wildcard pair for it, but the pair you're using for a specific goal has very specific outcomes. If mutations had been in since the beginning, then it probably wouldn't be a big deal, but adding such a drastic change after five years isn't a wise choice. These eye-types have proved that. I've seen a lot of users express that they're losing interest in FR because the dragons they love are not able to partake in updates that interest them as players. No matter how you slice it, that's not a good thing.
You're right, it's not "the entire site" who is asking for Staff to change their minds on this. But there are more players than I've ever seen engaged in this conversation with the same demand -- the only exception, perhaps, being the Plague Flight Skin Rules thing. This is worth listening to. And if trends continue this way, I suspect that player interest will start eroding.

Oh great, more eye variations that aren't even visible on >50% of the dragon images used. Were they designed exclusively for hatchlings, or?

It does look great on Bog hatchies, though. [emoji=ridgeback love]

I like the idea of mutations only available at birth too. It gives something to work towards and a bit more excitement to hatching. I love this site but if you're not creative or into collecting familiars, gen1s, dom etc you run out of things to log in for. Getting your dream dragons as non gen 1 is really easy especially if you shell out RL cash.

I gotta say the best adult dragon to for eye genes is spirals.
