TOPIC | CW/TW options for eyes/genes/whatever
Since my post in this thread, a few people loved my solution mockup, therefore I am creating a separate thread for this topic. I would like the ability to toggle a spoiler warning for certain genes, colors, and eye types as an account setting. Let's say Plague Primal creeps me out in a way that I get really anxious whenever I see it. Instead of altering the appearance of the dragon to make it look like it has Common eyes, I think a spoiler warning would suffice. That way I can scroll through someone's lair without freaking out if I see the cursed edamame + ketchup combo. I have made a mockup of a lair page as well! The tooltip would be a hover thing that would go away if you move your mouse away from the dragon or the tooltip. It's an extremely rough draft though, and I find the wording a little awkward, but I think it gets the point across. This spoiler warning wouldn't just be on the lair page, but on front page dragons, dragon profiles, the Auction House, Crossroads trades, forum posts, anywhere you can see it if you have it configured to block out whatever bugs you! TL;DR? Add the option to configure what genes/eye types/colors you see as an account setting, kind of like a trigger warning or content warning.

Yes! Definite support!

Thanks for making a new suggestion :) I thought to but ultimately was too lazy haha

I think this could work, though personally instead of a blurred dragon, I would like a sort of static Filler Image, and if I went over the dragon for it to tell me what about the dragon is a trigger. That way I can judge for myself if I can handle clicking on it or not. Maybe, to use your example, Plague Primal freaks me out, but only on Fae and Spirals. The scroll over can tell me it's a Plague Primal Imp, which isn't a trigger, so I'm I click the "I am fine to see it" button.

I was going back and forth between a blurred dragon or a static filter image. :P

I like the mockup for the most part. The only thing I disagree with is it remembering an individual's preferences for individual dragons. That's potentially a lot of stored extra data. The rest I can get behind.

I like the general idea!

I think the wording would be better served with something like "this dragon has been blocked according to your preferences" - "censored" is a bit much, I feel - but as you say the mockup's wording just needs some tweaking.

This would hopefully help with the inconsistent guidelines regarding red in skins and accents thing, too.

Strong, strong support for this. I would, as I mentioned in the other thread, like this to work for PFPs and dragon profiles, not just lair/den thumbnails, so for example if I hatch a kid with Faceted I don't have to look at it to do something like sell or exalt.

I like this mockup, but if FR thought it was too hard to code a blurred pixel thingie they could, uh, use the upside-down Skydancer or something *wheeze*

YES as someone with sensory overload. (mostly audio but sometimes visual) seeing these colors can be hard on me.
