If I didn't like a dragon, they wouldn't be here in the first place. Anyone I hatch and I don't like will get sold, while those who are in the projects tab are those who just don't have outfits and proper genes yet. That's the curse of having 400+ G1 permas

A dragon being in the den doesn't mean I don't like it. Ideally I'd like to eventually move the majority of my lair in there so I don't have to feed them all the time, and just keep some coli fighters and particularly important ones out in the open, along with all the ones that hatch clutches regularly. Frankly, the only thing holding me back from that is deciding on how I want to organize everything. what if I have to split up families
Anyway.
Dragons I have around but don't particularly care for are either works-in-progress, projects I'm on the fence about following through with, or pairs working on getting specific colour combos.

I'm planning for my clan/lair to be quite lore-heavy, and due to that I've limited myself quite heavily on how I can acquire dragons (All dragons being either self-hatched G1s, or children of said G1s).
So even though I may not like a dragon's appearance, I'd rather wait until I can afford a scatterscroll and test my luck rather than just exalt some dragon.
Plus sometimes their hatchlings with some of my other dragons look cute.

I really dont like gaolers, but I still keep the two gaolers in my hibden since they are from my fren
Most of the dragons in my den are either projects or I haven't found a way to connect them to the lore that I have yet to actually fully write down. It's not that I don't like them, they're just... waiting... for the perfect moment
Laziness/indecisiveness. It takes me a bit to be sure I don't like the dragon anymore, and then it's like...well I did like it, I don't want to put it up for fodder prices, and I don't really want to think about what it's worth or wait for it to sell at a higher price, so I might as well just leave it in my den for now. :P

hmm.. some of my very old permas i dont particularly love in terms of genes or colors - like, i definitely wouldn't pick them up off the auction house now, but ive had them for so long im attached to their current looks & the lore i have for them in my head.
ive been redoing my lair a lot, which meant a lot of purging, but most of the non-g1 dragons i have i dont plan on getting rid of. ive been completely redoing their outfits instead so maybe i'd fall in love with them again, and its been working great so far! im quite happy with all of their outfit plans (even if i hate met/alloy or iri/shim with a passion) and i cant see them leaving my lair anytime soon.
tl;dr dragons im keeping that i dont like gene/color-wise, i keep because i have emotional attachment and have figured out i can fall in love with them again if i just give them an outfit refresh :)

I have a lot of dragons that I keep to breed fodder. a lot of my dragons that I'm not as attached to as I was when I got them are also already partially integrated into my lore, and I still care too much about them to let them go.
basically, if I have a derg in any not-Fodder tab, it's because they have a reason to be here. whatever that reason is doesn't matter.
