I'm neutral to positive! There's not much at the moment, but it has a promising future, and it'll be kinda nice to get to level something again since I already have Baldwin and Arlo at max level lmao. Really love a few of the things already, like the yarn and the halos (and the scissors, but they're a bit big.) I just hope that this means we'll get a significant more amount of recolors, especially for things like fest items that don't already come in multiple sets.
I'm mixed on the new UI. I don't like how the largest stack sorting works-- I was hoping it would show me what item I have the most of overall, but nope, all 99 stacks are valued at the same. Which makes sense I suppose, but it's not helpful because it's the same as sorting by ID. That said, the search bars are very nice! I'll miss scrolling, but it loads so much faster, so I'll take pages instead.

I’m glad for the UI update that I hope gets rolled out to Baldwin ASAP and the recolours… it just feels like Baldwin 2 and that all of the stuff Sophie had could have easily been put in Baldwin, the achievements association, Arlo etc

I just love Sophie! I'm very specific about the colors of my dragons matching their clothes, so more clothing colors is good by me. I've also always been intimidated by Baldwin and his four thousand levels so this is helping me get into the crafting mechanics on the site. Solid update, I'm excited.

Sophie being so functionally similar to Baldwin is a bit lame as far being a new feature is concerned, he was the 2nd anniversary feature after all so the 12th being essentially a simplified copy doesn't inspire much excitement.
But I am glad that we're getting something of a thematic split in our crafting features, Baldwins cauldron spitting out fine clothing was always a bit wacky.
Kinda hoping the devs move over some of Baldwin's recipes to Sophie, particularly the Primary Carousel set would make sense considering Sophie got 3 recolours of that apparel.
And since it's now established that new crafting npcs don't need their own functionally unique systems I'd like to see more, like a Blacksmith npc for armor themed apparel.

I'm... whelmed.
This site is already getting a little overwhelming and confusing with "this item requires this" and "this item requires that" with no logical wishlist with quantities is... hm. It really sucks for someone like me who's neurodivergent who's finding item handling and organizing super overwhelming to the point where organizing my hoard is difficult and confusing in a sea of "Did I already trade this in to the Hibernal Dens? Wait, do I still need that one Baldwin item? Did I finish hoarding this item or not?"
I really like the recolors. I totally want the blue flame halo for a future fandragon project. I also like how there's no random colors anymore, just a single thread depending on the item you toss in. But yeah, I agree with some others here. It feels very underwhelming when most of these items could be added to Baldwin or the Achievement Association.
So yeah, 50/50 on this update. It's a nice update and I appreciate the hard work and thought that went into it, but... meh...

as cool as the recolors are at this point im in the camp of "eh let other people grind it out I'll just buy it" Never was a huge fan of Baldwin mechanics so it being the same is bleh for me.

I think that having a more specialized version of Baldwin is awesome. Baldy is a bit of a pain in the butt because he has only one cauldron but so many materials to make (which are based on RNG) and so many different items. Because of this I most often don't feel like making apparel when I could be making genes or event items. I really appreciate the ability to brew genes and make fun apparel at the same time :-)

I’m not a huge fan to be honest. I’m not someone who is big on Baldwin to begin with since I’m a more casual pop-in-when-I-have-time player, so introducing something that’s almost entirely the same thing doesn’t really appeal to me. While the recolors are really neat, I feel like they could’ve been easily been added to another part of the site. The update as a whole feels a little lackluster to me? idk, I just feel like having this be an anniversary update is a little underwhelming to me, especially since it’s pretty much just a reskinned Baldwin and a few new recolors (nothing entirely new); while I understand big updates take staff a lot of time to come up with and implement this feels more like a regular update than an anniversary celebration update.
That being said, that’s just my opinion! I’m glad that some of you guys enjoy it more than I do, and the new NPC and recolored apparels look awesome!
