I love them! They have the same vibe as Aethers to me. And they certainly still look more like dragons than some other breeds (looking at you, Everlux [emoji=tundra deadpan size=1])...
I can't wait for them to get cheap so I can get a few breeding paris with large color ranges. And obviously a plant themed breeding paar, Moss is a fantastic tertiary and I hope it will be available for more breeds soon

I also just generally have a gripe about them being ancients because really their body plan does not deviate at all from the modern breeds' and I wish that the artists would lean into their stated intentions of making more outlandish dragon anatomy with ancients. I find this design to be extremely underwhelming given that context.

This is the only issue I really have. I mean, come on... look at them, especially the M pose, and tell me they wouldn't have worked perfectly as wyverns. I'm dying for more wyvern breeds, but we've been stuck at one [emoji=banescale deadpan size=2]
[sub]I really dislike the M pose, but removing the arms would make it 100% perfect. They were supposed to be wyverns, change my mind.[/sub]

The first time I saw the release thread and thought - oh my god does this breed not have adult forms? All three versions of the art look really baby-like and cutesy in my opinion- I hatched both my eggs and nabbed a release date hatch from the AH, they look like tiny Pokemons to me xD

I really love how different they are. I mean im already happy its not another bug dragon that i did fear at first sight, from the teaser. Finally another breed that has the big eyes like spirals, and just love their silly big heads. Even a bit of a chibi style is an unique concept we have not seen yet. I understand why people call it cartoony, but to me its so unique. Really really like this breed and hope to see more of this 'cartoony' concept.

Tbh, the only problem i have is the eyes. Im pretty sure adult thorntails have the largest eyes, so an eye color that clashes with the rest of the design would be especially noticeable. I can already see future me finding a dragon i want with eyes on the opposite side of the color wheel......

When I saw the announcement post, I thought it was another wyvern breed like Banescales because the arms are so tiny that I didn't notice them at first.
Missed opportunity in my opinion.

Same, I thought they were little wyverns, and even when I saw the arms I had to think about if they were really arms because the design is so good without arms. Plus it's adorable/hilarious to think about them tottering around on their back legs with their wing-arms full of treasure and trinkets.

I agree! I like them but they would be one of my faves if they didn't have arms.

They do not fit into my lair aesthetic *at all* but as a keeper of weird animals (amphibians) I absolutely adore them and had to make a weird bee creature immediately

I don't think I'll have any more lol, but I could NOT help myself
