TOPIC | What is Exalting in your lore?
What is Exalting in your lore? Is it canon? Is flight dominance a thing? I'm thinking about making flight dominance a series of games like the olympics, though i'm not sure how exalting plays into it, and I want to here other's ideas!

In my lore, exalting = retirement.

in mine its a high honor, think of it like a catholic baptism
everyone exalted is willing to serve, though there have been instances of forced exaltations in my lore
there's a whole ritual attached that i wrote up too, but it's dated and i have to redo it

It's kinda vague in my lore, but I guess exalting for dom is a training program to send interns off to Stormcatcher to help him with......*hand wavy stuff* Probably all the folks working on The Source are exalted workers. Top secret stuff requires the best of the best. Basically they're civil servants now. Separate from the Tempest Spire which is a public-facing corporation with civilian workers. The higher-ups are probably exalted though, while all the regular workers and engineers are regular dragons commuting in (a lot of my dragons work there). Exalt=promotion in those cases.

But the dragons that get trained for exalt in my lair are just regular civil servant types, probably a lot of field agents that go out on missions. That's what the coli levels are for, so they can fight Shade-touched creatures in an official capacity (instead of the freelance work of regular coli grinding)

I'm using the canon interpretation of dragons being sent to serve their deity which is usually a great honour.

It gets interesting in the water flight though because the Tidelord is missing, so where are these exalted dragons going? It's a big mystery among the water dragons (especially the more recent ones).

Come visit my lore lair! It's a fun time here.

Something strange is happening on Sornieth. All across the world, dragons have begun to be born with multiple elements. How? Why? As dragons all across Sornieth takes notice, the wheel of fate begins to turn, as one fae's search for her mysterious origins leads her down a path that could change Sornieth forever.

I like the canon lore. I participate in dom and when I exalt I'm sending those dragons to serve the plaguebringer and strengthen my flight. it's a noble thing for the dragons to do and seen as a good thing to everyone involved.

Going off to serve Windsinger, so for some dragons that's becoming a traveling artist, writer, or messenger, for others it's fighting. I think of it like they're wandering mostly by themselves and following Windsinger, not attached to a clan anymore.
