I personally profit from eggs (except when I have a fun little hatch session with my SO)—reason being, I'm pretty sure I'll regret having hatched them in a year or two when I have all the achievements anyway. Can't justify the opportunity cost when I could be investing more into growing items or sick custom accents.
And YEAH! Would love farmable ancient eggs!

@Fwn it's more efficient to sell the eggs and boon every nest over three eggs. It's more fun to hatch. I'm ahead because of a few mass hatches, but those I did for fun and for events like my tenth anniversary.
I plan on hoarding them and using them when I need funds as I always do :)

Y'know, it somehow never occurred to me that boons could be used to speed up the breeding achievements! I'd just accepted that I'd always be behind by forgetting to breed often :p Looks like I've got a new way to sink my NotN money...

Unless the plots are 500 tiles big, I don't think they will ever do this, because it would significantly devalue all eggs.
