a dragon from my lore (who i don't actually have in my lair, she only exists in my head) had her charge be one specific clutch of eggs. and that clutch was infiltrated by a couple of ridgebacks who dropped off an extra egg and Left. you can imagine how this would lead to problems

for hypothetical, non-bugs-lore ideas:

-a dragon celebrity they've never met and most likely never will

-a really embarrassing, harmless secret that they have to prevent anyone else from knowing, no matter how funny it would be to bring up in conversation

-someone else's lunch

-a location so large that there's no way any one dragon would ever be able to protect the whole thing (example: the sea of a thousand currents, an entire city, the whole planet)

-a fashion trend that went out of style years ago

-a specific word or phrase that they bring up in any and every social interaction (bonus points if it's really rude or bizarre)

-the tidelord
