so I have this really close friend but she’s like a major catholic and there’s nothing wrong with that like I accept but she’s also kinda homophobic?

like she says that being gay is a choice and it depends on how ur raised because apparently to her if ur raised religiously then u aren’t going to be gay. she said that her crush, who is like pretty obviously gay, isn’t gay because he is catholic and i feel like that is so stupid because how are you going to tell all the lgbtq+ ppl with religious homophobic parents that. Even parents who aren’t religious and still homophobic. She just really bothers me bc she js doesn’t seem to understand that being lgbtq+ isn’t a choice. I js don’t know what to do about her because it’s like really offending me and like sure u can have ur opinions but don’t be homophobic and say that it’s not a choice then call lgbtq+ a choice. the main problem is that she’s a good friend but her opinions really bother me sometimes. she’s also against abortion which is a whole other thing.
