BUT I'M DOING THIS INSTEAD.
Hey there! I go by Youko!
I'm an illustrator. I am also a proud feminist and supporter of LGBTQA+ rights.
This is my personal blog, so
you'll be seeing a lot of random things from me.
(She/Her or they/them pronouns, please and thank you!)
(I am cis and white, btw, so if I say or reblog anything insensitive, please let me know! I'll delete the post and do what I can to do better in the future!)

I wish I didn't have to write this, but given what happened on Free Play, I feel like I have to state that MY WRITING AND MY ART ARE NOT TO BE USED FOR ANYTHING OR POSTED ANYWHERE BY ANYONE EXCEPT ME WITHOUT MY EXPRESS PERMISSION.

[ID: A screenshot from the subreddit “Cool Guides.” The caption reads, “A cool guide for a mnemonic device for remembering the Great Lakes.” The photo is of the Great Lakes, all labeled, with text above and below. The top text reads “Lisa Likes Licking Lettuce Lightly,” with each word’s first L underlined, and the bottom text lists the lakes from west to east, with each L in Lake underlined. End ID.]
This phrase has already entered my vocabulary re: media criticism where like. The viewer has a concrete view of what they expect a story to be based on the tropes and cliches they’re used to seeing together, and when that doesn’t happen, they judge it as a failed depiction of what they assumed it was going to be instead of judging it as what it actually is.
“This show is problematic because the hero didn’t kill the villain at the end”: When does he steal the bread?
“These two characters who were close friends throughout the series don’t kiss at the end! What the fuck?”: When does he steal the bread?
“This feels like it’s missing a conclusion! Like, the protagonist does bad stuff and because of a critical decision he makes as a result of his major character flaws, meets tragedy in the end! Where’s the part where he learns better and brings is love back from the dead and becomes a good guy and gets a happy ending?”: When does he steal the fucking bread??
Soulslike boss where when you get them below 20% hit points it triggers a taunt where they refer to themselves in the third person, and the name they say is completely different from the label on the on-screen health bar. The game immediately pauses, buffers, then displays a popup informing you that someone else’s health bar has been shown in error and apologising for the inconvenience. The depleted health bar is then replaced with the correct (full) health bar, and the fight resumes.

Reaching that guy without dealing damage to the boss and angering him is part of an unmarked questline.
Allow me to share some of the most beautiful birds from the southern parts of Africa where I lived for a long time.
Introducing the Purple-crested Turaco (the rest of the Turaco family all.have similarly striking red wingtips in flight, although their bodies are much greener and they have white eyestripes)
Sticking with the purple theme, and similar to some of the birds above, the iridescent Violet-backed Starling is next!
Amazing camouflage and a hauntingly beautiful call, the Diederiks Cuckoo is one of the prettiest patchwork birds out there.
Proudly representing Angola, the Angola Pitta is a rare and elusive bird. It is however worth the search!
Next up, we have the beautiful (and tiny) Violet-eared Waxbill.
And my personal favourite (and national board of Kenya!): The Lilac-breasted Roller.
I know the subtropical species generally aren’t as colorful but these guys are my neighbors and I love them so much can I get any love for my stripey southwestern bois:
Ok so it’s clear to me that some of y'all are having issues with this video. As someone who understands breed specific behaviors and dog body language this shit is objectively hilarious to me. Lemme explain why:
Beagles are a very vocal breed. They are hound dogs, specifically hunters, so their job is to communicate and be extra loud when excited or a “treat” is found.
Due to their nature as hounds, and in part genetically predisposed health issues, they get fat often. They’re prone to eat too much and need exercise. Old beagles tend to get over weight.
This dog is not biting, frustrated, or aggressive. He’s wagging his tail, licking his owner, and engaging in hunting behaviors (barking, sniffing, pointing, and nipping.) This dog is trying to catch his treat. He’s working for his reward.
TLDR: The dog is having fun. Don’t take it seriously. Using a crunchy mic with a beagle makes his barking sound so funny. Enjoy the humor.
