oh what a valiant roar, what a bland goodbye
Soooooooo are we finally as a fandom choosing to reject anything after s5 ep4 Sorcerer as canon? Because I really think we should do that and we should start playing with our dolls now!
This whole situation is ABSURD, it's even getting funny lmao. Why do they keep contradicting themselves in every interview???? Why do they keep giving us ambiguous answers???? Why did they show us they used Chatgpt without any problem?????? Why did they admit they don't know that much about DnD????? Why are they completely humiliating themselves and ruining their careers???????? 💀
“I asked chatgpt” yeah well I asked the Duffers and it turns out they also asked chatgpt
i just saw a tiktok clip from the documentary about how they didn’t have a final script during filming.
this is highly unprofessional and outright disrespectful to the crew of this show, and i cannot fathom how they must have felt seeing their own bosses waste their time and put impossible expectations on them. the writers are being forced to wait hand and foot, and have to be ready to write at the drop of a hat under extreme pressure and time constraints—meaning creativity and revision is incredibly difficult to maintain. meanwhile the production crew doesn’t even know what they have to prepare for. how much time did the costume team have to make battle outfits? how much time did the set crew have to prepare the logistics of these scenes and…yknow, build the damn set? how did lighting know how many lights they needed to film with? what about the actors, who had much less time to memorize the script, which ultimately dwindles the quality of their performance?
i just genuinely do not understand how you can be so careless as a writer and showrunner. that’s fully on them for not managing their time well. that’s fully on them for not making deadlines and adhering to them. all of this was preventable and absolutely amateur.
this wouldn’t even be okay in middle school—your teachers would never accept late work from the prior semester. if a 12 year old can submit their work on time, then so can these people who have the backing of a gigantic production team, billion dollar company, and hundreds of millions of dollars.
listen. this is actually common for the duffers, as they’ve said they were actively tweaking (pun intended) the scripts for season 4 during filming. but they had more time for season 5. they had more pressure because it’s the damn finale. they had more money. they had “known the ending for years” allegedly. there’s no excuse for this bullshit.
incredibly embarrassing, and it’s the reason why i’m not giving them the time of day to watch the documentary. i’ll criticize based on scenes that pop up—but giving them the streaming numbers? absolutely not.
