((I had a vision, don't mind me :3c))
Hey have you seen my daugh—
I am Manousos Oviedo. I am Carol Sturka. We are not one of them. We will save the world.
It’s been about 2 months since Ash passed. I don’t like cosplay anymore, anytime I see any cosplay I just ignore n move on now.
And on one hand, it only feels right that their death would make this kind of impact in me. But on the other hand I feel cowardly. Other black creatives who still have love for cosplay aren’t getting any support with me ignoring it are they? I have respect for any and all of those who can still commit to the craft and make a substantial effort to kick racists out of these spaces, because outside looking in it’s such a losing game, dealing with non black teenagers on TikTok that think their racism is just ‘racial’, and that’s best case scenario. I can only pray 2026 brings some meaningful changes in all nerd spaces for black artists, serious meaningful changes where white artists step up and sever this tumorous rise of conservative-fueled antiblack negging bullshit out of their circles and their own friends. For now I don’t think I can bear to even look nowadays, and for that I’m sorry.
may 2026 bring us closer to a Palestine liberated from zionist occupation, and a Democratic Republic of Congo and Sudan free from proxy exploitation. May 2026 see more people gain the courage to make the world a little better than before. May we all remember to tend seeds whose trees we may never sit beneath. Consider donating to/sharing The Sameer Project, or Khartoum Aid Kitchen or Focus Congo. All power to all the people. Happy new year.
i exist and i love you
"Coca-Cola made an AI ad!"
"McDonald's releases AI Christmas commercial!!"
Don't care didn't ask plus here's a beautifully animated ad for a French supermarket that was made by actual artists
@ people annoyed about the Wolf being pescatarian I think the takeaway is that you should fall in love with the experience of cooking.
Not only improving the skill of cooking but also reaping the rewards can not only make you happier but make you more magnetic to the people around you.
Here i interpreted it as the Wolf going from knowing food as sustenance versus knowing food as meals and knowing meals eventually as community
they really didn't extend carol any grace for grieving. the other immune obviously have no idea and have their own problems to deal with, and it's not like carol has opened up about any of this to them. but the hive knows. and it isn't important to them. they want her to be happy by replacing her dead wife literally the day after she dies. they don't give her space to process her emotions, it's just this endless bombardment of gifts and smiles and nice words. they don't leave her alone when she wants them to, and when she rebels against their niceties they leave without another word. they give her the cold shoulder! because she betrayed their trust, because she pushed them too far? sure. but she was grieving the loss of the only person in the world who understood her and she's the one expected to manage her emotions for their sake. they might not be able to physically harm anyone, but that's not the only type of harm you can cause. and the second she is truly alone she's actually allowed to process her own emotions and think clearly. the nonstop 'feel better, we're here for you, whatever you want we'll get, even if it's a hand-grenade' really only worked to stop her from thinking too hard about everything. it's just a big distraction

this is what being a fictive and being friends with other fictives feels like
A bunch of allyuh gonna play you sympathetic towards Squid's death for a period, yeah, but I wonder how long you're going to keep them in your memory.
Are you going to put in a genuine effort into fighting fandom racism and to actually learn or you gonna let this one die too until the next Black person comes along and kills themself?
Like ppl gonna remember this for a week or a month or 2 but how many of these people posting their sympathies are actually going to actively speak up and support Black creators experiencing racism within their fandom? Do you plan on remaining complicit?
I'm saying that I wish people actually cared. But fandom ain't really gonna change, is it? Because racism in fandom is seen as a culture war rather than a genuinely pervasive evil. Caring about it is optional.
Rest in power, Ash.
Hadda make a damn edit bc apparantly they use they/them pronouns yet people are referring to them with she/her. Editing out the full name too because idk how they feel about their full name.
Like how the FUCK you see the message by their family using they/them to refer to them and allyuh still using she/her? Fuck ALL of you.
