After two and a half years of writing, I have finally finished my very first webnovel, entitled "Be a girl", which you can now read in its entirety here.

Be a girl is a story about a teenager who so desperately wishes she could be a girl, but believes it to be impossible. It's a story about denying what your heart most wants. It's a story about coming to terms with the fact that you will never get the fairy tale ending you always wanted. It's a story about becoming the person you were always meant to be in a world that doesn't want you to. That even if you don't believe it, you can be a girl.

Be a girl is very personal to me. It's based heavily on my own experiences growing up as a trans girl. Back then, I never believed I could be a girl, even though I wanted it so desperately. Be a girl is a letter to my teenage self. It embraces her with an understanding of what she's going through, and whispers that it will all be ok. It won't be perfect, but you can be a girl. I promise.

It just really gets to me that 10 year old Mob walked into Reigen’s office looking for anyone who could give him advice about his powers that are scaring him. And Reigen looked at him and went “This baby child is absolutely delusional, but he looks like he needs someone to say something important to him right now.” And Reigen spun up some bullshit on the spot that became the guiding compass of Mob’s life.

And it’s very important to clarify that Reigen did not -accidentally- give Mob good advice. Because one of Reigen’s most distinct traits is his ability to come up with genuine advice and tell people what they need to be told. But he’ll do this on the spot. He’ll do it wrapped in bullshit. He’ll camp it alongside some conman string. He’ll go along with anything. He’ll pretend anything is true. The grift is, in fact, integral of it.

And I love this dichotomy in him because he’s so precariously set up at all moments to topple. For anyone to call him on his bullshit and use that to dismantle everything he’s said. He was lying. He was scamming you. He was using you.

And yes, he was. But it wasn’t really for service of the con. It was for service of the customer, who needed to hear something important.

A terrified 10 year old walked in because his powers had just hurt his little brother and he was feeling so alone in the world and so dangerous and so scared. And Reigen saved him the way Reigen does best.

no website is without its problems but in few lanes of things i do think tumblr is the ideal social media experience, becuase when i first saw the whole "girl dinner" thing it was people posting like images of toys and whole animals and buildings so i thought the bit was that girls are awesome and can eat drywall and bones if they want but then i found it it was girls self owning themselves on tiktok that they give into misogyny and the whole horrible diet culture thing and i got really sad. oh and then boys did it i guess too

girl math/girl dinner is being like "im a girl and i suck at math, because im a girl. im eating 2 crackers and a sniff of cheese because im a girl and thats what being a girl is because girls dont need to eat". boy math/boy dinner is "im so awesome and this thing im doing wrong is bad on purpose and i dont care because im a boy and boys get to be actively detrimental to shit on purpose" im sure this reflects nothing about anything
