I retconned my gender

there’s a lot to say and process, but these are the two points i want to make now:

we need to start taking censorship seriously. there is no more room to discuss what kind of content should be restricted or removed. if you give a white republican man an inch, he will take a mile. we need to be fierce and unwavering advocates for freedom of expression. they will ban books, they will ban porn, they will decimate our ability to depict sex, queerness, and pleasure in media. it really is that fucking serious. no more jokes about gooners or hard drive checks. it’s not a joke anymore, it’s their whole platform. they will not stop at art that you personally find gross or distasteful— they will destroy our ability to create.

we need to protect each other. our communities both online and in person are more important than ever. we cannot eat each other alive. there has always been a bigger enemy, and now that enemy is in power. our trans and immigrant friends are the first in the firing line. we need to uplift, encourage, champion, and protect the people around us. nothing else is more important.

protect art. protect each other. that’s the work, and it starts now.

minor antis have every right to be wary of and criticize adult proshippers especially those who like to write sexual content of underage characters.

They shouldn't be interacting with adults writing adult content, it's 18+ for a reason. They especially shouldn't be harassing people, which is what criticize seems to equal for minors nowadays. Block and move the fuck on.

why does anyone think minors should have opinions on porn?? excuse me??? you think minors should be dictating what porn genres adults should be allowed to consume??

most unhinged take i’ve ever seen

hot take but just because a strip club is doing a Disney theme and their dancers are calling themselves Bambi, Ariel, and Snow White doesn't mean that minors have the right to walk in and start criticizing the dancers for "sexualizing underaged characters". that's not what a "right" is.

and it's the same thing with erotica and pornography. there isn't a pass or a badge or a permit or anything that gives children permission to enter strip clubs, or R-rated movies, or the adult section of a video store, or even a bar, so the idea that they're magically entitled to 18+ fanfic/fanart is delusional at best and copium at worst.

again, if a strip club has a dancer named Elsa who dances to "Let it Go", it doesn't suddenly make it okay for a CHILD to be part of the audience, and it doesn't mean their opinion on the performance holds any weight. it just means that the bouncer sucks at their job or someone was an asshole and snuck a kid into a strip club.

The thing about the moon is maybe you don’t need to write a poem about the moon. The moon’s been done, we’ve discussed it. It’s a coin a mirror an eye a lantern in the darkness. It’s a rock in space. It’s the dang moon we’ve all seen it! Is there something you can notice that’s is more surprising than the moon???

we need to normalize hating popular headcanons of your faves. im serious

you are not by any means forced to enjoy a headcanon that you dislike. even if it seems like the entire rest of the fandom loves it. even if you feel like the only person who dislikes it. you are not a bigot or a hater or a bad person for not liking how people characterize your blorbo. that is your blorbo.

The idea of “but everyone knows that” needs to stop.

I saw a post about someone chiding Millennials for not knowing about JKRowlings transphobia, and asking how it is at all possible that people can exist in the world and the internet and, you know, not know.

Which I mean, I get. It is so present in so many of my online spaces that it seems astounding that someone could simply be ignorant! It feels impossible!

But let me tell you a story:

I went on a girls trip with a bunch of friends. All of us are rather incredibly liberal and all of us are incredibly online.

One girl would not stop talking about Harry Potter.

At one point, another girl asked her why she was ok with supporting it, and she had no real clue that JK Rowling was at all transphobic. She had heard that she likes to support Lesbian causes and thought “oh ok cool!” And that was it. She was AGOG with the news and rather horrified.

I must once again emphasize that she was an incredibly online person. She’s a foodie and a restaurant blogger.

Later in the trip we were picking restaurants and I suggested one I found on Google, and she gasped at me. Actually gasped, asking how I could ever be okay picking that one.

The shock must’ve been on my face, because she then told me all of the shitty things that restaurateur does. He abuses staff. Underpays them. Fires them on a whim. Is known for being one of the worst people to his employees in the entire restaurant business on this coast.

And she was so shocked I had never heard of this. Because in her mind, I was just as online as her. And in her online world, EVERYONE knew about this guy.

So I think the moral of this story is: always approach the other person with some empathy. Even online people, even people you think MUST know about how bad people are, may not have heard. It may truly be just them being on a different sphere of the internet than you.

So be gentle, be kind when letting people know they might not have heard about the cancellation of XYZ person. Don’t assume that everyone knows all the same info as you.

By all means, let them know so they can make informed decisions, but being kind will go a lot further than attacking them for some info they might not know yet.

So turns out the US are setting babies up for a lifetime of illness and increased likelihood of liver cancer in Guinea Bissau in the name of “research”

7000 newborns will be denied the neoneatal HepB vaccine until 6 weeks to ‘prove’ that the HepB vaccine is linked to neurodevelopmental disability on the directions of the Department of Health vis RFK Jr and in collaboration with researchers in Denmark, despite the fact that the vaccine’s efficacy rate and best protection is when administered to newborns, and the total lack of correlation between vaccination and neurodevelopmental disabilities.

Guinea Bissau has some of the highest rates of HepB on the continent, and infants are the group at the highest risk of contracting HepB, leading to chronic hepatitis & long term hepatic diseases like cirrhosis and liver failure as well as increased chance of liver cancer.

The study can’t be carried out in the US or Denmark because it fails almost every benchmark for medical ethics — surprising absolutely nobody, it is in fact heinously unethical to expose babies to preventable disease that causes liver failure and liver cancer, but the “study” has been green lit in Guinea.

Fuck the US imperial project in Africa, fuck RFK Jr and the US Department of Health, and fuck every single collaborative researcher in Denmark. This is some nightmare Tuskegee Study shit and every single individual involved deserves to be in The Hague.

You know technology literacy is dying because I saw this meme with 76k likes

F11 the full screen button? You’re scared of the full screen button? F10?? It opens the menu bar???

Computers are so scary what if I accidentally hit F12 in a steam game and it takes a screenshot. What if I press shift + F12 while in word and accidentally save my document 😖
