the texas chain saw massacre (1974) outtakes
The standoff with agents happened on Jan. 8, one day after an ICE agent shot and killed Renee Good in south Minneapolis. Wootenโs refusal to comply with ICE was captured on video and posted to Facebook.ย
The agents tried everything to intimidate the guard.
ย โYou canโt come back here, bro,โ Wooten can be heard in the video saying to an agent wearing a mask and sunglasses. โIโm talking to your manager,โ the agent said. Wooten responded: โNo, youโre talking to security, Iโm in charge.โ
ICE left empty-handed. Wooten said he just stood his ground, โ10 toes down.โ
โI was doing my job like Iโm supposed to,โโ Wooten said. โIf you donโt stand for something, youโll fall for anything. I just want to make my family safe because Iโve been here three years.โ

Civil rights pioneer
Claudette Colvin, whose 1955 arrest for refusing to give up her seat on a segregated Montgomery bus helped spark the modern civil rights movement, has died. She was 86.
Her death was announced Tuesday by the Claudette Colvin Legacy Foundation. Ashley D. Roseboro of the organization confirmed she died in Texas.
Colvin was arrested months before Rosa Parks gained international fame before refusing to give up her seat on a segregated bus.

Apparently ICE now has agents posing as utility workers to get into people's homes. The electric and gas companies have posted information on how to tell if it's one of their workers, and numbers to call to confirm whether they've sent someone to do utility work on your house.
Stay safe, friends.
Some people have shared stories of suspicious โsales representativesโ knocking on homes, asking about the home owners and who lives there, fishing for phone numbers, but do not provide business cards, company id, company phone numbers, etc when asked.
They come in pairs, never one person though one may hag back a bit. They have been seen using cars with significantly tinted windows, no business logos anywhere on the vehicle, or parking close to the home they walked up to only to drive away right after without visiting other homes, almost as if theyโre not real sales people.
True door to door salespeople need a sort of peddlerโs license, subject to city and county law, to solicit at your door. You can ask to see this permit. If they donโt provide one or make an excuse, they are likely bogus.
They wear a jacket with a company logo but likely donโt wear name tags and the Donโt provide id.
Tell them youโll call the company about a noncompliant representative. Make them leave. Better yet not to open the door to them, and tell them nothing.
Actual sales reps also generally do follow โno solicitingโ signs. Be aware, be safe, donโt give out your information or that of others under duplicitous means.
Some of you think of Cops as kind of a symbolic figure representing "telling you what to do" & you're Posting things like "acab includes fandom discourse" and I thuink the 80% white website needs to remember the reason why we hate cops is because they kill people
We hate cops because they're a weapon for enforcing the state's interests through violence. Like, they kill & imprison people. The antis don't have a Quite Literal boot on your neck please god log off or talk to a Black person or something
To be SO fair like really generous there is something to be said for unlearning the habit of figuratively "policing" other people especially in the context of, like, not being a fucking snitch, "kill the cop in your head" etc etc, but can we not completely lose the plot re: what cops Are
For three days I've been battling this illness alone. A severe case of the flu has exhausted me; my weak body can't take it anymore. The cough won't subside, and my fever worsens day by day. I haven't slept a wink, not only because of the illness, but also because my bed is completely soaked with rainwater. I sleep on the cold floor, wet, shivering, and in pain.
I can't eat anymore. Every bite hurts; my throat is inflamed, and my stomach is empty. I went looking for medicine, something to ease this pain, but it was too expensive, so I returned empty-handed, suffering in silence.
The pain has become unbearable; I even wish for death. There's no rest at night, no medicine during the day, and I can't endure any longer. Every passing moment feels like my last. My only wish is that my voice reaches everyone who can help me by donating so I can buy medicine and repair our torn tent. Please donate and don't abandon us.
