Invite guests to your group reservation

You’re all booked! Before you begin your trip and stay in a home, or take part in a service or experience, it’d be a good idea to give guests in your group access to your reservation.

What happens when you invite guests to join your reservation

When your guests join your reservation, they can access the reservation details, review group messages, share their profile, and stay in touch with you and the group on Airbnb after the trip through Connections and messaging.

Inviting guests to join or joining a reservation is optional. If you prefer not to share your profile with other guests and to remain connected on Airbnb afterwards, you don’t have to. You can always review and update your profile to make sure that you show up how you want to for your connections, hosts and other guests on Airbnb.

How to invite guests to your reservation

Once your reservation is confirmed, you can invite other guests directly from the reservation details in Trips by sending an invite link by SMS, email, WhatsApp, Messenger, WeChat, and more.

To accept the invitation, your guests will need to log in to their Airbnb account or create one, if they don’t already have one.

What trip details guests can access after joining your reservation

After joining your reservation, guests will have access to information such as:

Home stays
: Check-in details, including the address of the host’s place and check-in instructions.
Services
: Info including details about the booked service and the host’s background.
Experiences
: Helpful info about the experience, like the duration of the experience and what they should bring or wear (ex: comfortable shoes).

Guests on the reservation will also get access to all past and future messages with your host, and can read and send messages to the host and everyone else in the group conversation.

What profile details can guests view after joining your reservation

After joining, guests will appear as travelers on the reservation and everyone on the reservation will be able to view each other's profiles. Guests can remove themselves from the reservation, or be removed, before a trip ends.

Other guests' names, photos, and their profile information will be viewable from the trip details, the group message thread, and from Connections in your Profile. After the trip, guests in your travel group will still appear in Connections, allowing you to easily access each other's profiles and stay in touch on Airbnb.

Your connections will appear in your Profile and are visible only to you and not displayed on your public profile.

Removing Connections after a trip

After a trip, you can request a connection be removed from the Connections view by emailing us at [email protected] with the name of the person you’re requesting to be removed and a reservation confirmation code for any trip(s) you traveled on with them. Removing a connection will result in that person being removed from your Connection list, and you from their Connection list but won’t impact your past trips or messages. You can also choose to report or block messages from other guests.

When invitations to join a reservation expire

Invitations to join a reservation expire at checkout for home stays, upon completion of a service or experience, or if the reservation is canceled. You can also disable the shared link at any time from the reservation in Trips.

If you need to change the number of guests in your reservation

The number of guests can be changed for home stays and service reservations that are in progress or haven’t yet started. If you need to change your guest count, find out how to add or remove guests from your home or service reservation.

For experience reservations, the number of guests can’t be changed after the reservation is confirmed. You’ll need to either cancel and rebook or have any additional guests book a separate reservation.
