really can't get enough of how cool being in a fandom space that's basically about art and artists and doing art is for my creativity, i haven't been this excited to make stuff in years cus so much of my time online has been trying to connect with people through media instead of myself. it's not that i didn't enjoy those experiences i had exactly, but it's hard to get psyched to make some cool art when you feel disappointed by the source material on some level, especially when it was often still a requirement to stay in the loop with friends. i was raised on a higher-than-average amount of nature docs instead of preteen-geared stuff and have always loved plants and animals, learning about them as creatures but also as individuals in my spaces, i also played a lot of wildlife education cd-roms that came loaded with stuff like food chain information about great barrier reef fish and what kind of plants are edible in the amazon rainforest. its really awesome having a space full of pretty friendly artists where i can channel that info ive just been sitting on into art that feels like me instead of Content™️

so i'm cooking on my next fursonas to take a crack at, i have a pretty sizeable pile of ocs in my toyhouse that are slated for redesigning but that's a different list, this one is mainly headmates or new concepts.

* seren - tfem bobcat, possibly bobcat/cougar. femme fatale, smooth talker, city slicker. jessica rabbit but with the glados dry predatory humor
* maw - agender undecided crocodilian, a komodo dragon or other big lizard is on the table. interdimensional mouth monster built to kill and eat, natural terrorist, terrifyingly reasonable
* auto(pilot) - so i keep thinking it would be really funny if this guy was a cyborg otter bc then its auto the ottermaton but it's just not clicking visually. this is a robot "guy" that would pair well with a work dog or a colony bug of some kind. sentinel guardian + undesirable jobs bot, never had feelings before, quietly stares at you for 20 unbroken minutes before asking you a very banal easy question
* shane - butch teddy bear plushie, haven't decided if i'm giving him a motordyke arc but she's got that stone butch blues jess in him. adopted by an ikea seal and might get a green dragon gf?
* hex - the exception to the rule, old ultimate chad sex witch oc im hype to turn into a pyrenean ibex with pink hair
* i have an adult text adventure game alpha draft thats an original fantasy dystopia with a main cast of like 4-6 baddies that's supposed to be a setting with a gradient of human and animal and in-betweeners that means i can't just make them all furries casually..... but i'd really enjoy adapting parts of the story plan into furry comics bc one of the mains is a malaria demon so she'd be a mosquito and i really need to make some crazy bugs out here
aside from all that, i recently acquired a mystery adopt from lionessbutmasc.bsky that's a lovely natural palette european hornet design!!! definitely hype to cook on her too 💚💚💚
