Execute update UID tool from console

How can I run the update uid tool from the console?

Sometimes during the development process, together with the team, situations occurs when uids in files break.
After launching the tool, there are changes that need to be applied.
I want it to be possible to check if there are any changes at the pull request stage

I agree it makes sense to have a --upgrade-project-files CLI argument to run Tools > Upgrade Project Files. This will be useful for https://github.com/godotengine/godot-demo-projects maintenance to update its 100+ demos to the latest versison in an automated manner.

The problem is that the upgrade tool first determines what files need to be upgraded and then restarts the editor after storing this information. The editor has to be already running to do that.

In .godot/editor/project_metadata.cfg there is project_upgrade_tool section. Check its contents after selecting the upgrade option. You can run the tool by copying the contents of this section.
