Minecraft: Pi Edition is a singleplayer and multiplayer first-person and third-person sandbox game in the Minecraft series. It is a cut down version of Minecraft: Pocket Edition (now called Minecraft: Bedrock Edition) v0.6.1 alpha developed for the Raspberry Pi. It was intended as an educational tool for novice programmers and contains a revised feature set and support for multiple programming languages.

Minecraft: Pi Edition never received any subsequent updates because the original team has stopped supporting it.

In August 2021, when Raspberry Pi OS Bullseye was released to the public, Minecraft: Pi Edition was officially removed from both the Games Folder and the Recommended Software page because Bullseye dropped support for the graphics API that Minecraft: Pi Edition depended upon.[2] The game is still playable by using a previous version of the operating system.

As of May 2021, the game cannot be run on ARM64 builds of Raspberry Pi OS and Ubuntu MATE because it requires the ARMHF version of the libraspberrypi0 package, and it doesn't accept the package's ARM64 version.[4][5] This also prevents it from running on non-Raspberry Pi hardware.
