    Connexion

    Connexion

Swagger/OpenAPI First framework for Python on top of Flask

Connexion is a framework on top of Flask that automagically handles HTTP requests defined using OpenAPI (formerly known as Swagger), supporting both v2.0 and v3.0 of the specification. Connexion allows you to write these specifications, then maps the endpoints to your Python functions. This is what makes it unique from other tools that generate the specification based on your Python code. You are free to describe your REST API with as much detail as you want and then Connexion guarantees that it will work as you specified. We built Connexion this way in order to simplify the development process. Reduce misinterpretation about what an API is going to look like. With Connexion, you write the spec first. Connexion then calls your Python code, handling the mapping from the specification to the code. This incentivizes you to write the specification so that all of your developers can understand what your API does, even before you write a single line of code.

    Cutelyst

    Cutelyst

Web Framework built on top of Qt, using the approach of Catalyst

Create fast and modern web applications that share the same code as your desktop or mobile apps. Why have two or more development teams focused on a specific platform when you can have a single team coding the same code, sharing skills and lines of code. With Qt, you already can write applications for Windows, Linux, Android, MacOS, and iOS using the same source code, Cutelyst allows you to share your C++ code with your web application. Cutelyst has a WSGI server that supports HTTP/1.1, HTTP/2, FastCGI, and WebSockets, it can even be embedded in your application if you like. It also features a plugin for uWSGI which gives us support for HTTP/1.0, FastCGI, and uWSGI protocols but is slower and doesn't support WebSockets. Running standalone or behind a web server is really easy. With your application logic written in C++ your application get's really small, a full CMS (like this one) uses around 5MB of RAM which can be shared with other instances of the same application.

    Framework Benchmarks

Source for the TechEmpower Framework Benchmarks project

If you're new to the project, welcome! Please feel free to ask questions here. We encourage new frameworks and contributors to ask questions. We're here to help! This project provides representative performance measures across a wide field of web application frameworks. With much help from the community, coverage is quite broad and we are happy to broaden it further with contributions. The project presently includes frameworks on many languages including Go, Python, Java, Ruby, PHP, C#, F#,Clojure, Groovy, Dart, JavaScript, Erlang, Haskell, Scala, Perl, Lua, C, and others. The current tests exercise plaintext responses, JSON serialization, database reads and writes via the object-relational mapper (ORM), collections, sorting, server-side templates, and XSS counter-measures. Future tests will exercise other components and greater computation.

    Mobility

    Mobility

    Pluggable Ruby translation framework

Mobility is a gem for storing and retrieving translations as attributes on a class. These translations could be the content of blog posts, captions on images, tags on bookmarks, or anything else you might want to store in different languages. Storage of translations is handled by customizable "backends" which encapsulate different storage strategies. The default way to store translations is to put them all in a set of two shared tables, but many alternatives are also supported, including translatable columns and model translation tables, as well as database-specific storage solutions such as json/jsonb and Hstore (for PostgreSQL).

    Nano JSON

    Nano JSON

Lightweight, facility, high performance golang based game server

Nano is an easy-to-use, fast, lightweight game server networking library for Go. It provides a core network architecture and a series of tools and libraries that can help developers eliminate boring duplicate work for common underlying logic. The goal of nano is to improve development efficiency by eliminating the need to spend time on repetitious network-related programming. Nano was designed for server-side applications like real-time games, social games, mobile games, etc of all sizes. In fact, the nano application is a collection of Components, and a component is a bundle of handlers, once you register a component to nano, nano will register all methods that can be converted to Handler to nano service container.

    PMHTTP

    PMHTTP

Swift/Obj-C HTTP framework with a focus on REST and JSON

PMHTTP is an HTTP framework built around URLSession and designed for Swift while retaining Obj-C compatibility. We think URLSession is great. But it was designed for Obj-C and it doesn't handle anything beyond the networking aspect of a request. This means no handling of JSON, and it doesn't even provide multipart/form-data uploads. PMHTTP leaves the networking to URLSession and provides everything else.

    Ponzu

    Ponzu

Headless CMS with automatic JSON API

Ponzu is a powerful and efficient open-source HTTP server framework and CMS. It provides automatic, free, and secure HTTP/2 over TLS (certificates obtained via Let's Encrypt), a useful CMS and scaffolding to generate content editors, and a fast HTTP API on which to build modern applications. Ponzu is released under the BSD-3-Clause license. With the rise in popularity of web/mobile apps connected to JSON HTTP APIs, better tools to support the development of content servers and management systems are necessary. Ponzu fills the void where you want to reach for WordPress to get a great CMS, or Rails for rapid development, but need a fast JSON response in a high-concurrency environment. Since HTTP/2 Server Push is used, Go 1.8+ is required. However, it is not required of clients connecting to a Ponzu server to make HTTP/2 requests.

    Spots

    Spots

Spots is a cross-platform view controller framework

Spots is a cross-platform view controller framework for building component-based UIs. The internal architecture is built using generic view models that can be transformed both to and from JSON. So, moving your UI declaration to a backend is as easy as pie. Data source and delegate setup is handled by Spots, so there is no need for you to do that manually. The public API is jam-packed with convenience methods for performing mutation, it is as easy as working with a regular collection type. At the top level of Spots, you have the SpotsController which is the replacement for your view controller.

    Spring Data Redis

    Spring Data Redis

Provides support to increase developer productivity in Java

Provides support to increase developer productivity in Java when using Redis, a key-value store. Uses familiar Spring concepts such as a template class for core API usage and lightweight repository-style data access. The primary goal of the Spring Data project is to make it easier to build Spring-powered applications that use new data access technologies such as non-relational databases, map-reduce frameworks, and cloud-based data services. Connection package as low-level abstraction across multiple Redis drivers (Lettuce and Jedis). Exception translation to Spring’s portable Data Access exception hierarchy for Redis driver exceptions. RedisTemplate that provides a high level abstraction for performing various Redis operations, exception translation and serialization support. Pubsub support (such as a MessageListenerContainer for message-driven POJOs). Redis Sentinel and Redis Cluster support. Reactive API using the Lettuce driver. JDK, String, JSON and Spring Object/X.

    TreeFrog Framework

    TreeFrog Framework

TreeFrog Framework, High-speed C++ MVC Framework for Web Applications

TreeFrog Framework is a high-speed and full-stack C++ framework for developing Web applications, which supports HTTP and WebSocket protocol. Web applications can run faster than that of scripting language because the server-side framework was written in C++/Qt. In application development, it provides an O/R mapping system and template systems on an MVC architecture, aims to achieve high productivity through the policy of convention over configuration. TreeFrog Framework is cross-platform. It runs on Windows, of course, but also on UNIX-like Operating Systems, macOS, and Linux. Using Windows open-source coding, it is possible to support Linux. Web applications that run on multiple platforms are also possible, simply by recompiling the source code. TreeFrog Framework is open-source software, under the new BSD license (3-clause BSD License).

    Twirp

    Twirp

A simple RPC framework with protobuf service definitions

Twirp is a simple RPC framework built on protobuf. You define a service in a .proto specification file, then Twirp will generate servers and clients for that service. It's your job to fill in the "business logic" that powers the server, and then generated clients can consume your service straight away. Twirp routing and serialization reduces the risk of introducing bugs. Both JSON and Protobuf are supported. The Protobuf protocol is designed to allow backwards compatible changes (unlike JSON, it is trivial to rename fields). Protobuf is super fast and the proto file definition also works well as documentation for your service. Twirp is similar to gRPC, but without the custom HTTP server and transport implementations: it runs on the standard library's extremely-well-tested-and-high-performance net/http Server. It can run on HTTP 1.1, not just http/2, and supports JSON serialization for easy debugging.
