Open Source Python Libraries

A Python library for efficient XML and HTML processing, known for speed and compatibility. The lxml XML toolkit is a Pythonic binding for the C libraries libxml2 and libxslt. It is unique in that it combines the speed and XML feature completeness of these libraries with the simplicity of a native Python API, mostly compatible but superior to the well-known ElementTree API. The latest release works with all CPython versions from 3.6 to 3.12. See the introduction for more information about the background and goals of the lxml project.

EBF, which stands for Efficient Binary Format, is a binary file format for reading and writing binary data easily. Reading writing routines are currently available in C,C++,Fortran,Java, Python, IDL, MATLAB. A program called ebftkpy which has a set of utility functions to work with the .ebf files , e.g., viewing the contents and getting a summary, is also provided. The EBF specification is designed to be concise and easy to understand to make it easier for others to write their own code if needed. It is also designed to simplify the programming of input output routines in different programming languages. In a nutshell an EBF file is a collection of data objects. Each data object is specified by a unique name and a single file can have multiple data objects. Each data object is preceded by a meta-data or header which describes the binary data associated with it. Among other things, this header allows the files to be portable across systems with different endianess.

The 'jsondata' package provides for the modular in-memory processing of JSON data by trees, branches, pointers, and patches. The main interface classes are: - JSONData - Core for RFC7159 based data structures. Provides modular data components. - JSONDataSerializer - Core for RFC7159 based data persistence. Provides modular data serialization. - JSONPointer - RFC6901 for addressing by pointer paths. Provides pointer arithmetics. - JSON Relative Pointer - draft-handrews-relative-json-pointer/2018, contained in JSONPointer. - JSONPatch - RFC6902 for modification by patch lists. Django REST Pandas (DRP) provides a simple way to generate and serve pandas DataFrames via the Django REST Framework. The resulting API can serve up CSV (and a number of other formats for consumption by a client-side visualization tool like d3.js. The design philosophy of DRP enforces a strict separation between data and presentation. This keeps the implementation simple, but also has the nice side effect of making it trivial to provide the source data for your visualizations. This capability can often be leveraged by sending users to the same URL that your visualization code uses internally to load the data. While DRP is primarily a data API, it also provides a default collection of interactive visualizations through the @wq/chart library, and a @wq/pandas loader to facilitate custom JavaScript charts that work well with CSV output served by DRP. These can be used to create interactive time series, scatter, and box plot charts.

Dominate is a Python library for creating and manipulating HTML documents using an elegant DOM API. It allows you to write HTML pages in pure Python very concisely, which eliminates the need to learn another template language, and lets you take advantage of the more powerful features of Python. Dominate can also use keyword arguments to append attributes onto your tags. Most of the attributes are a direct copy from the HTML spec with a few variations. Through the use of the += operator and the .add() method you can easily create more advanced structures. By default, render() tries to make all output human readable, with one HTML element per line and two spaces of indentation.

A python package to find repetitive format pattern in HTML pages and extract information from them using this pattern. The idea is that in pages that have some kind of a list, there will be a repetitive pattern for the human eye (the page format).

CLI tool and python library that converts the output of popular command-line tools and file types to JSON or Dictionaries. This allows piping of output to tools like jq and simplifying automation scripts. jc JSONifies the output of many CLI tools and file types for easier parsing in scripts. This allows further command-line processing of output with tools like jq or jello by piping commands. The JC parsers can also be used as python modules. In this case, the output will be a python dictionary, or a list of dictionaries, instead of JSON. Two representations of the data are available. The default representation uses a strict schema per parser and converts known numbers to int/float JSON values. Certain known values of None are converted to JSON null, known boolean values are converted, and, in some cases, additional semantic context fields are added.
