Open Source Python Logging Software for BSD

A simple keylogger written in python. It is primarily designed for backup purposes, but can be used as a stealth keylogger, too. It does not raise any trust issues, since it is a set of [relatively] short python scripts that you can easily examine.

Monitor everything. OWHTTPD -- same system, only used as a light weight web server. OWFS is also ported to embedded routers, Mac OSX and Windows. Cinemagoer is a Python package useful to retrieve and manage the data of the IMDb movie database about movies, people, characters and companies. Platform-independent, it can retrieve data from both the IMDb's web server and a local copy of the whole db.

Fail2Ban monitors log files like /var/log/pwdfail or /var/log/apache/error_log and bans failure-prone addresses. It updates firewall rules to reject the IP address or executes user defined commands. justniffer is a TCP sniffer. It reassembles and reorders packets and displays the tcp flow in a customizable way. It can log network traffic in web server log format. Automatic rotation of chunked audio logs, with log retrieval facilities.

Autologging eliminates boilerplate logging setup code and tracing code, and provides a means to separate application logging from program flow and data tracing. Autologging provides two decorators and a custom log level: "autologging.logged" decorates a class to create a __log member. By default, the logger is named for the class's containing module and name (e.g. "my.module.ClassName"). "autologging.traced" decorates a class to provide automatic CALL/RETURN tracing for all class, static, and instance methods, as well as the special __init__ method (by default) "autologging.TRACE" is a custom log level (lower than logging.DEBUG) that is registered with the Python logging module when autologging is imported
