Interpolate is a powerful Swift interpolation framework for creating interactive gesture-driven animations. The idea of Interpolate is - all animation is the interpolation of values over time. Create an Interpolate object with a from value, a to value and an apply closure that applies the interpolation's result to the target object. Alternatively, you can specify multiple values for the interpolation in an array. The Swift compiler might have issues to infer the type of the array so it's best to be explicit. For other types of gesture recognizers that only report a beginning and an end (e.g. a UILongPressGestureRecognizer), you can animate directly to a target progress value with a given duration.

With the AR MultiPendulum app, I created the world’s first AR headset experience that does not rely on expensive specialized hardware. Using Google Cardboard, a standard iPhone, and video footage from the phone’s camera, the app creates an AR headset experience by rendering the user’s surroundings in VR. AR MultiPendulum allows users to interact with virtual objects directly with their hand instead of tapping an object's location on a touchscreen. It brings a mesmerizing multi-pendulum simulation into augmented reality. Users interact with this simulation through hand movements and modify it through a holographic interface. Not only does this app bring augmented reality to a pendulum simulation, it is also the first app to simulate more than three pendulums. Additionally, by repurposing a VR headset for AR, this is the first app that gives users an affordable AR headset experience.

GPUImage 2 is the second generation of the GPUImage framework, an open source project for performing GPU-accelerated image and video processing on Mac, iOS, and now Linux. The original GPUImage framework was written in Objective-C and targeted Mac and iOS, but this latest version is written entirely in Swift and can also target Linux and future platforms that support Swift code. The objective of the framework is to make it as easy as possible to set up and perform realtime video processing or machine vision against image or video sources. By relying on the GPU to run these operations, performance improvements of 100X or more over CPU-bound code can be realized. This is particularly noticeable in mobile or embedded devices. On an iPhone 4S, this framework can easily process 1080p video at over 60 FPS. On a Raspberry Pi 3, it can perform Sobel edge detection on live 720p video at over 20 FPS.
