In this game that is set in golden age of mankind around decade since global political crisis that ended by recovery of current regime which allowed human race to stand unchallenged in it's supremacy over borders of galaxy, you are in role of pilot who must travel around universe to find parts of secret weapon operating on plasma extracted from hostile alien race that is bent on exterminating humanity and everything else along their way in order to save human race from extinction. Game's plot tells you how humans planned to expand their presence around universe until three weeks ago, alien fleet emerged from unexplored space, launching violent attack as plague of locusts wiping everything out on it's way to bring terror and death to Earth in which took split second for aliens to almost occupy all capital planet. After recovering from unprovoked invasion, humans endeavored to resist invaders despite of unequal forces. Unfortunately, aliens continued to increasingly expand when intelligence officers of Earth discovered maternal ship of aliens serving as hatchery orbiting capital planet two weeks ago. Infiltrating hatchery flagship of aliens failed because of it's protective energy shields, forcing Earth's scientists began developing top-secret weapon that would operate on plasma extracted from dead aliens. But aliens occupied scientific stations, making situation nearly hopeless of human race, and it is up to you to fight against aliens and collect parts of secret weapon and assemble it to defeat aliens and save human race from extinction.

Astro Avenger 2 is a single player game that contains 50 levels divided into 5 missions (each of them having 10 levels), 8 types of Power-Ups, 20 types of enemies divided into 6 types, 5 bosses at end of each 10th level, 6 types of primary weapons for your ship to use to shoot at enemies and blast them to pieces, 5 types of secondary weapons for your ship to use to shoot at enemies and blast them to pieces, 5 types of your ship, and 4 types of helpful Droids. Main features of Astro Avenger 2 are collecting money from destroyed enemies to buy weapons, ships, and droids, and collecting parts of secret weapon to defeat aliens.
