Join Celsey Fannin as they teach participants to carve a small linocut block to create their own design and make their own prints. Participants will leave the three-hour workshop with their own 4" x 6" carved linocut block, test prints of their design, and the skills necessary to recreate their design in their own home. Participants should expect to build upon skills taught in linocut stamp workshops, however, those who have not completed this workshop can begin at this level. Join Seed Sewer’s as we explore the wonderful world of sewing! In this class you will learn how to thread and operate a sewing machine, get more familiar with various sewing tools, learn pinning, and more! Get started refashioning an oversized button-up shirt into a stylish smock top in this 2 hour, evening class. Unlock thrift shop potential, and learn to rearrange an oxford button-up shirt into something you'll love to wear! Start a Pleated Smock or learn Shirring to change the shape of the original shirt, we may not finish this project in 2 hours, but you can get started on your upcycle project! Students should be comfortable threading their machine and sewing straight lines.

Required Materials: Button-Up shirt at least 2 sizes larger than your own. Matching Thread color. Bring your own machine, or reserve one from the Design Center.

Tunisian crochet is often described as a mix between crochet and knitting. As in knitting you will at times have many live stitches, and as in crochet you will use only one hook. But in Tunisian crochet your hook will have a long cord, with length determined by project size.

The class fee includes a skein of yarn. You are welcome to bring your favorite size 4mm (G, US6) and size 5.5mm (I, US9) crochet hook with you, and Liz will bring extras to loan out.

While we'll be making a small sample project and won't need a corded hook for this class, Liz will bring a variety Tunisian crochet hook sets and talk over their pros and cons.

This workshop will cover the Tunisian Crochet Simple Stitch (Tss) and will include a handout for recommendations on resources for future learning.

The class size is limited to 6 people to ensure plenty of time to ask questions and receive direct instruction.

The foundation of Tunisian crochet starts with a chain stitch, so the instructor asks that if you haven't picked up a hook in awhile, get a little practice in before the workshop.

Whether you’re a beginner or experienced quilter, whether you like traditional designs or a modern look, log cabin blocks are for everyone! Log cabins are perfect blocks for brand-new quilters, so if that’s you, great! In this class you'll learn traditional and new techniques, and make variations including housetop, courthouse steps, asymmetrical shapes, potato chip blocks, chevrons and quarter log cabins. Our focus is on using scraps and discarded fabric. The class uses machine sewing, but hand sewists are welcome too. Did you learn about blockprinting in middle or high school? Did you want to practice more? This is the class for you! This is an introductory class to linocut where you will learn how to carve your own stamp. Perfect for beginners and those who have previously learned blockprinting skills but want to get back into it. Participants will create a stamp of their own design and will print on fabric or paper with use of instructor’s tools. Participants will leave the class with their own stamp and prints.

Don't want to socialize? Bring your headphones and let the worries of your day melt away one paper star at a time.

Making paper stars is a breeze to learn. Liz'll be there to demonstrate, and there are written directions and diagrams. The written instructions are yours to keep along with all the stars you make. A selection of jars will be available if you'd like a convienient way to transport and/or display your stars.

Just want to make but don't want to take the stars home? Donate them to Liz and she'll include them in future projects.

Masking encouraged, and masks will be available at the workshop.

For this class, we will be looking at more advanced paracord bracelets, starting with different core types. Participants are encouraged to bring their own materials, especially a jig, but basic materials will be provided. The instructor Jamye will guide you through a number of more challenging projects, with step by step instructions and guidance as well as some pointers on how to make paracord bracelets that will impress! It is recommended that you have some experience with paracord braiding, at least a basic cobra knot, but we will work with beginners as well.

Have fun sewing a relaxed quilt that borrows techniques from Japanese boro and Siddi kawandi. Quilts will be made entirely from scraps and second hand fabric. No pattern, minimal cutting, and no concerns about expert sewing. Just choose fabric you like and you'll learn how to put it together into an attractive, usable item. This class will focus on machine sewing, although folks who prefer hand sewing are welcome too. Beginners are welcome, but you should be able to do basic sewing either by hand or machine.
