Open Source Flex User Interface (UI) Software

FlexViz is a graph-based visualization tool written entirely in Flex and ActionScript 3.0. It is based on the Shrimp/Jambalaya/Creole java tools and has the same layouts that have been ported from Java into ActionScript.

A Flash UI Framework using the Adobe drawing APIs to create everything. All UI objects can be skin.

With FlexMT each flex program can be easily equipped with multi-touch operation. FlexMT supports symbolic and direct gestures like dragging, rotating or scaling and uses TUIO for touch detection. FlexMT is part of a Tabletop-Project at the FH-Trier.

An open source project is initiated as "Mobile Application Studio" to achieve portable communication methods. It aims to generate MXML (MXIM Markup Language). Mxim framework is content serving framework, which enables you to build mobile applications.

This is a collection of Flex components I have built for use in various projects I am / have worked on. I have benefited greatly from open source projects in the past and wanted to share my code with others like me.

The TileSlider is a combined module loader and grid style layout system with animated transition featuring a directional motion blur. Functioning similar to a ViewStack the TileSlider navigates through a set of views with a few major differences: - views have a physical location, so even if skipping over a view it will briefly be visible while the layout transitions. - a selectedIndex of "-1" will cause the TileSlider to 'zoom out' to display all tiles (/views). - 'Tiles' do not need to be created in MXML or AS, the TileSlider operates using a data source containing a set of ModuleItems, each describing a module to load. - The animating layout can be used separately to the module loading aspect of the component set.

WiiGesture is a library to add gestural interaction in web-applications that are based on Adobe Flash/Flex/Air. Therefore it uses the WiiFlash service (http://wiiflash.bytearray.org/?page_id=50) to retrieve the sensor data and an internal algorithm based on template matching recognizes performed gestures in real-time. For easier gesture training, a so called WiiGesture-Learning desktop tool was developed that automatically generates gesture templates by performing gestures with at least one repetition. The result is an XML file that can be exported and included in the WiiGesture-API so that trained gestures are known to the API. For research purposes also an analysis tool was developed to compare gestures from different participants/users. We used it to identify intuitive gestures from users for certain commands. The entire work was part of my diploma thesis I wrote in 2008 at Fraunhofer IGD. The gesture recognition API was included in a number of example scenarios.

This project defines an open AS3/Flex interface to allow you to plot information via Google Maps API simply using your own XML datasets.

Vulcan Project is micro-architecture that are implemented the basic commands (open, close, undo / redo, copy / paste ...) and the docking-system is required for UI development. Vulcan Project is based on Flex / AIR framework.
