Fast Artificial Neural Network Library is a free open source neural network library, which implements multilayer artificial neural networks in C with support for both fully connected and sparsely connected networks. Cross-platform execution in both fixed and floating point are supported. It includes a framework for easy handling of training data sets. It is easy to use, versatile, well documented, and fast. Bindings to more than 15 programming languages are available. An easy to read introduction article and a reference manual accompanies the library with examples and recommendations on how to use the library. Several graphical user interfaces are also available for the library.

Thank you for your interest in Speedy Composer. Speedy Composer is an automated application for composing melodies for Speedy Net members. We recently made changes to the source code of Speedy Net, and converted it into the Python language and Django framework. Since Speedy Composer was originally written in PHP, it is not adapted to work with Speedy Net in its current form. So unfortunately we were forced to temporarily close the app Speedy Composer. But don't worry, we kept backups of all the tunes composed by Speedy Composer, and when the website is reopened we will upload them to the new site. Speedy Composer and Speedy Net are open source applications, free software. We are currently looking for volunteers to help us convert Speedy Composer to Python. A parallel-programming framework for concurrently running large numbers of small autonomous jobs, or microthreads, across multiple cores in a CPU or CPUs in a cluster. Each microthread is conceptually similar to a task in Ada and it is much lighter weight than an operating system thread. SpikeOS was designed to handle millions of microthreads, for example in a neural network hosting millions of spiking model neurons. SpikeOS handles microthread scheduling, synchronization, distribution and communication. *** This project has been forked. NeuraNEP (sourceforge.net/projects/neuranep) represents a major update to SpikeOS. It has the same core functionality plus several enhancements, including a scripting interface. NeuraNEP is engineering-oriented, as opposed to simulation-oriented, and some features/capabilities have changed.

Microthreads are general processing elements that can also represent non-neural elements, such as cell populations, extracellular space, emulating sensory activity, etc. NeuraNEP handles microthread scheduling, synchronization, distribution and communication. This project is a fork of SpikeOS (sourceforge.net/projects/spikeos) and represents a major update to that code base, including a scripting interface and low-level rewrite of several components. SpikeOS was oriented towards computational modeling. NeuraNEP is oriented toward neural network research.
