A new system programming language designed to occupy the same niche C is currently holding, that allows for easier development of large platform-independent systems. The aims are to: * Keep all of C's system programming strengths. * Be as efficient as C (at run-time) and as high-level as possible for the programmer. * Promote modularity and ease the development of large-scale component-based software. * Enable programming-by-contract and other high-level features (as long as they incur no extraordinary costs at run-time). * Provide a stricter and more platform-independent type system than C. * Allow direct use of existing C and platform (e.g. Win32 API) libraries. This phrase from the "SPL Language Reference" says it all: "One could say SPL is what C should have been, were it not for the limitations of the time when C was designed".

HSPL is Human Speakable Programming Language, allowing for communication between human-to-computer and human-to-human in the same language. This project has moved to http://sourceforge.net/p/spel We are currently working on human-to-computer programming-language with mostly English base vocabulary. Though once we have that, we plan to add support for other world Languages, including Chinese, Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Hindi, among others. Eventually HSPL shall be the foundation of GIOS the General Intelligence Operating System. PARUS is a data-flow parallel programming language that allows to build parallel programs for clusters and MPP multiprocessors. The data-flow graph is automatically converted to the C++/MPI source and linked with the libparus runtime library. Also there are available tools for benchmarking cluster interconnect and visualize it.

aime is a programming language intended for application extension purposes. It is simple, with a C like syntax and automatic resource management. The interpreter interface has many options for connecting the interpreted programs to the embedding application state. It allows application supervision with regard to such concerns as execution length, memory allocation, error reporting. A standalone interpreter together with many demo/test programs is included.

Complex Output Input Language. It was made because games in python end up quite ugly and bloated. This is designed to be clean & easy. It's an interpreter, It was written in C++. Not a singe line of code was written by an adult (except the standard c++ libraries). Give it a try and tell me what you think. It's a work in progress so there are only input and output functions, variables and if statements. Frost is an interpreted structured programming language based on C and Objective-C. It has dynamically typed variables, named function parameters, implicit memory allocation, and automatic garbage collection through reference counting (for arrays). As any major interpreted language, you can easily create bindings of your C library functions to Frost. Its interpreter is written in C, and it only uses libC and POSIX system calls (Lex and Yacc are not required). You can easily compile it on Linux or OS X using the included Makefile.

PEARL is a high level procedural programming language, which was especially designed for the demanding need to have an expressive and comfortable language for solving multitasking problems when controlling technincal processes. PEARL is an abbreviation for "(P)rocess and (E)xperiment (A)utomation (R)ealtime (L)anguage". It was designed around 1975 at the IRT Institute of the Leibniz University in Hannover with the idea in mind to have an easy to learn programming language for realtime problems. Programming language Owlet is a rule-based interaction level programming language for building distributed applications. The compiler is implemented using JavaCC that translates Owlet programs to Java programs.

SNOBOL4, while known primarily as a string language excels at any task involving symbolic manipulations. It provides run time typing, garbage collection, user data types, on the fly compilation.
