Welcome to Abbey Road Institute MUmbai

Abbey Road Institute Mumbai is a specialist music production and sound engineering school based inside Bay Owl Studios in Khar West. Our one-year Advanced Diploma in Music Production and Sound Engineering is designed with Abbey Road Institute London and informed by almost 90 years of innovation at Abbey Road Studios.

As a student in Mumbai you learn inside a busy commercial studio, sharing the same rooms and workflows that today’s artists, producers and engineers use. You will spend the year recording, producing, editing and mixing music, building a portfolio that shows real work rather than just classroom exercises.

Our curriculum combines hands-on studio training, focused classes on theory and technology, and regular masterclasses with working professionals. The aim is simple – to help you enter studios, live rooms, writing rooms or post-production facilities with confidence, whether as an artist, producer or engineer.

Abbey Road Institute Mumbai is a franchise, with the registered business name of AR Institute LLP, operated under license from Abbey Road Training Ltd, a UK company.

Advanced Diploma in Music Production and Sound Engineering

Our full-time, 12-month Advanced Diploma in Music Production and Sound Engineering takes you through every stage of the modern production process – from songwriting and sound design to recording, editing, mixing and delivery.

You will work across multiple studios at Bay Owl Studios, use industry-standard DAWs such as Pro Tools, Ableton Live and Logic Pro, and learn how to collaborate effectively with artists, producers, engineers and clients. Alongside the technical skills, we cover the business and career side of audio so you understand how work actually comes in, how credits work and how to build sustainable opportunities in India and beyond.

By the end of the year you will have a strong portfolio, a clearer sense of your strengths as an artist, producer or engineer, and a network that includes peers, faculty and guest mentors.
