about

At the risk of overstating the obvious, I have very eclectic musical tastes - from jazz and classical to Berlin School, space music and alt-contemporary. I was first exposed to this band via Radiohead: this is a group with a very dense, distinctive sound, and I've toyed with the idea of writing a homage to them and for them.

Many of those efforts wound up on the cutting room floor, as they say, but when I began work on this tune, I realized I had to start thinking composition-wise in terms of how Sigur Rós gradually layers different textures, and goes for a full, almost orchestral sound. When I did that, things began to gel. And of course, I had to do a gradual reverb/echo chamber effect toward the end. Hope you don't think I went overboard.
