Hypothetical scenario: you have received an invitation to the wedding of someone you're not especially close to (though close enough to attend).

Assume the wedding is being held in a mid-range, secular venue, so there is no religious aspect to the dress code or expectations from a high-class venue.

When attending a wedding as a GUEST, what dress code do you like best/feel least stressed out by?

"No dress code"

"Wear whatever you feel comfortable in"

"Wear something nice"

Some people find very general dress codes to be the least stressful, while others find very specific dress codes to be less stressful. Anon is curious which way tumblr users lean.

what they don’t tell you is that sometimes you’ll want to leave, until you actually do. then all you’ll want is to go back

sorry for being annoying [remembers that practicing gratitude instead of shame is better for my mental health and my relationships] thank you for letting me be annoying with you

worry not my lord, allow me to unscrew that jar for you. i would not want for you to strain your hand or break a nail. alright. hmm. HMMMM. HNNNGRGHHHHHH. HNNGGHHHH HRRRRRGHHH. AAAAAARGHHHHHHH fucking. squire fetch me my grippy gloves

The older I get the more I admire people who are earnestly, genuinely into whatever their thing is. I know it sounds like an annoying cliche but unless you're being cruel or hurtful there is really no need to be normal about things. The dude with the bad fake accent at the renaissance faire is having the time of his life. The people having photoshoots with their fashion dolls are loving it. The old lady with a yard unreasonably full of tacky ass lawn ornaments is having a blast, HOA be damned.

Don't waste your time being too cool to have fun, y'know?
