On May 3rd, LA pink goddess Angelyne’s neon-draped sophomore album “Driven to Fantasy” will be available once more on Angelyne Pink vinyl, in stores and online, in partnership with Dark Entries Records as part of the label’s 15th anniversary.
Angelyne, a voluptuous blonde, is a self-made icon who drives a pink corvette. A series of billboards popped up in the LA area featuring the name “Angelyne” along with a mysterious femme fatale posing provocatively. The campaign created an instant stir worldwide, making her the first icon who was "famous for being famous," and it led to the recording of her second solo album, “Driven to Fantasy.” The album features 8 tracks of bubblegum-hued new wave with a distinctly LA flavor. On sexy titles like “Sex Goddess,” “Skin Tight,” and “Flirt,” Angelyne fuses the glam and grit of southern California punk with flashy, sexy synth-pop style. This will be the first time that this cult record will be in print since its original release, on Hot Pink vinyl with a bonus 2-sided poster featuring lyrics. Angelyne is more than just a billboard queen or a rock star; she’s a movie star, a visual artist, a painter and even a political candidate. Celebrate a worldwide legend with this historic release.
