Worldbuilding Question! What is the relationship between gijinka and their respective Pokemon in your setting??? Some of your posts have indicated that Pokemon as we know them do exist in the world, similarly to IRL animals (ex: you've mentioned eating fish Pokemon.) Would, say, a Rattata gijinka consider themselves the same as/related to a Rattata, or would they just consider themselves a person???
It depends, varying from species to species. For the most part, gijinkas believe they share the same ancestry as their pokemon counterpart. An example being the Rattata gijinkas who do not view the Rattata pokemon as pests like most other gijinkas and would rather get rid of them by peaceful means if they become a hassle. Then there are rarer species like Relicanth that place their pokemon counterpart highly and closer than others.
